Hey guys -

Short version; I am committed to making this GB work, I‘m in it for the long haul, and just hang on from your end, it will work.

Long version; As Kelly from Hyperco advised me last week on something I did not think about ……….. The committed pricing quote from Hyperco and it’s parent company are from months ago back in 2005, and they will hold true to the committed quote. 15, 20 or 25 kit sets makes no difference to them, yet it is very relevant to the overall big picture to you and me as it makes my wholesale cost go up per piece on an amortized scale as the/your quantity goes down. With the price standing pat now, I build less than 17 kit sets for you guys, I make zero and I am doing this for nothing. In reality, I might loose about $200.00 bucks in the end. 18 on up, I’ll start to recoup, but I sure as hell won’t be getting rich doing it. I hope you guys follow that ! BUT - and it’s one very big butt. Now then, If I go back and have them re-quote a smaller quantity of say 15 or 20, the price will go up somewhat drastically and I/you will see 2006 pricing structuring increases all across the board even if I order 25, 20 or 15. Bottom line, once I file for a new pricing quote, it negates the old one I had. Then I’m stuck with it. We don’t want to do that !!!!

I need to hit 20 pre-sold sets so I don’t lose my arse’ on this GB. Hit 20 sets for me, and I’ll kick in what $$$$ that are needed to make this work and I’ll turn the order into Hyperco. I’ll recoup as the other sets are sold, and Chris and I can make the rest work. Lets hold the price where it is and hit 20 pre-sold sets !! FYI - I’ll split the shipping costs with anyone if they buy and pre-pay for more than one set. You fence setters need to pull the trigger now and send your funds to Chris !!!

You guys cool with this ?

Thanks for figuring all of that out for us, although after reading it through twice, I'm not entirely clear on it, too many numbers! Again, I'm in this for as long as it takes (sooner is always better, though!), but I have a quick question. From your post, I understand that we can submit the order at 2005 pricing at any quanity and Hyperco would accept it with no increase in their cost, but you guys would the ones taking the hit. Is that correct? Naturally, we would never want that to happen, you guys have worked too hard on our behalf. However, if everybody agreed to pay a bit more to cover the profits you'd lose submitting an order for 17 instead of 25, would that work? I myself am not agreeing to do so yet as I don't know what the cost breakdown would be per order, but at the right price, I'd rather do this and get you two paid off in full for your efforts than having to have you kick in money to make it happen at 20 units. However, I don't know if from a business standpoint it would be benefical to have a few sets on your shelves from the 2005 pricing structure? This whole question may be moot as there have been several tugs on the line recently and hopefully we can get the 25 soon. And I'm in this group buy with tibetan monk-like patience, I just find that knowledge empowers me. If I am completely mis-reading your post, please disregard.

Thanks for all of the work!

-Nic

We need to sell at least 18 sets in order for Rick to make some money out of the deal.

Neither Rick or I can afford to have extras build and have them sit on a shelf, there's just not enough profit in them to do that. And Hyperco will not do it either.

Nic -

It will work out, it always does. Past Hyperco GB track records show this. I follow your posting intent ……

Answer it ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ makes little or no difference in the end …… At this point, your quoted comment above falls into the irrelevant and not cost effective category. When the time comes, the order quantity that I will submit will be for 25 kit sets. Anything less than 25 kit sets would be an impractical and stupid business decision on my part. I do enough stupid stuff, just ask Jill !!

how many orders do we currently have?? I could try and scrape up enough cash to purchase an extra set to hold and sell when one of the fruitcakes that is not getting in on this GB decides they want a set a week after it closes.

It might be a week or so before I'd have the money to make this happen.
so that basically means I'd only be paying for shipping on one set of springs?

Basically how its gotta be due to funding, is if I can find somebody who would like to purchase my Cordless Escort Solo S2 Radar detector I will be able to buy another set of springs.
If anyone is interested, I paid around $375-400 (if I recal correctly, it was over a year ago) and I have barely used it.
It comes with carrying case and instruction booklet and windshield mounting suction cup thingy and I am asking $300 shipped for it.
