Those weren't pictures of the products he's made...those are similar to what he intends to make

User can set the page size to be longer than the default, so saying it's at the bottom of page 2 isn't going to work for everyone. I'm set to 40 posts per page.

What is the front bolted to? That section of the frame is boxed in, so I don't think you could get a nut on the other side to bolt these down. Did you use Nutserts?

What do they screw into? I don't think sheetmetal screws through the frame rail would provide much chassis stiffening. You should look into Nutserts.

There's a nice animation showing how they work here: http://www.avdel.textron.com/index.h.../thin_sert.htm

I'm not dissing your effort here. I just want to make sure we get the best possible product. I think you'll also need to add a third tube to triangulate the prototypes in the pics you posted.

well you dont have to buy them if you dont trust my idea, this is the best resort to using nutserts. the reasoning for going with screws is because with a screw you have a smaller whole and they are going into the core where it is overlapped so you will have plenty of strength

Awww.... Don't be like that. If you can't take a little feedback and a few new ideas then you're on the wrong forum. I hope you make an awesome product and sell a ton of 'em.

I just wanted to throw my concern out there that screws might not be the best option. If I wanted to use Nutserts or even weld these bars to the frame for that matter, I don't think you'd need to change your design. It should work either way.

Stephen, SE-R_DAN has made an extremely important and extremely valid point here.

It may work but it will be the 1st time that sheet-metal screws will have been used for (structural) chassis stiffening.

that is a sound way of mounting the rear legs. triangulation isn't necessary as the door mounts are a solid structure tied into one another.

i would be more interested in what size/wall tubing you are planning on using.

the front mounts are an area of concern, as others have suggested

yes understand what you all are saying, but if you guys could purchase those nutserts and put them in.......the brackets are already predrilled so all you would have to do is mark the whole, drill, install the nutsert

I know its a bit of extra work, But couldn't you cut out a small piece of metal where the top mount will sit, And weld a new stronger bit in place with a captive nut attached.

That or drill a hole right though the metal both side's and weld a bolt tube in, Now that would be very strong and very easy to do.

there are quite a few things that you can do in order to mount the front part of the brace, i just chose to send screws out with them becasue i dont thikn that everyone on her has access to a welder or has fabrication skills to weld a nut in.......

Yeah, welding would make this more difficult. Is anyone a Nutsert expert who knows what we need and where to get it cheaply?

Stephen, do you know the thickness of the frame at the point where these braces bolt on?

the core where the front bracket screws in is about an 1/8 to 3/16 thick...it is where the two pieces of the core overlapp and are spotwelded.

I am also ready to send money, but first want to get a resolution for the front mount. Sheet metal screws aren't going to be the answer, and I really only want to pull my fenders once. Anyone have a lead on the nutserts?
