Coach I like the idea with SR20performance. I would rather give him my business than Baker. Just my input.

Me to man, ESPECIALLY now that Baker has F$%#*@ us over the last three months. But Louis is really slow getting back with me. I have left a couple messages. Hopefully I will know exactly what is happening in the next couple days.

Possible New Sources!

I want to drop an update and let you all know that I am working with a FEW different places now to see who can get these hoses out to us the fastest. If one of these places steps up to the price of Baker and can deliver quickly and in the proper colors, I will gladly switch over and cancel the Baker order. I will keep you up to date the very best that I can this week.

I like the idea of cancelling the Baker order and going with someone stateside. I can see it now. Darlene finally gets the hoses and calls you. You say sorry but I have cancelled my order. Now Baker has wasted time, $, materials, and a customer. Personally, I think we have waited WAY too long and I don't want the Baker product. Go local to source the sili hoses.

Coach, can you tell me the part # on the alternator belt in your engine pic in the sig? thanks

I am working on a couple different sources for the Samco silicone hoses, but guess what, they are manufactured in the UK, I bet by the same company that makes the ones for Baker, maybe not though. I HOPE NOT! I will keep you all posted.

se-riousB14, i will have to look at it when I get back into the garage this weekend. i left my parts lists, #'s and such in the garage.

But if you want to go to a parts store, just ask for the No A/C belt for a 91 Nissan 2.0L and you should end up with it. They are a 4 rib belt on a 6 rib pulley, but there are countless people that are running that with no problems.

That is what I have on the det now, and the alternator is adjusted as far as possible-its actually touching the block- and the belt is a little too loose for my taste. I went back to CRAPA and got a belt 1/2 inch shorter, hopefully it'll work.

Wow, we should have switched belts, mine is a little short for my liking. I only have about a half to 3/4" of adjustment in that belt.

How long are you all willing to wait for the hoses again? If we change the order to someone else it looks like 4-6 weeks and shipping time again. One bonus is that it will be a Nissan Community person in charge of it, not some money hungry bastard company like Baker. I have not heard from Baker so I feel that if no work by Friday that order is off and we will order from one of two places that are offering the hoses to me. I am still waiting on final prices, but it looks to be about the same as baker right off the bat, I had to talk Baker down to the initial price I am being told to by people right now.

What radiator hoses? Wasn't this like some time last year?

It's looking like I'll end up having to do this during the middle of the hot Florida summer... and pray I don't get rained on.

Do what you think is best, Brent. As long as the hoses will be a straight swap and strong/good quality, I'm game. Don't really feel like giving Baker my money now, anyway... bastards. Hope all their damn cars develop a rod knock. '

I was trying to be really cool and patient about this, but since we can't even guess when Baker will deliver and they won't give an honest answer, I've officially lost my patience. Go with the known time frame.

Later,
Mark(who can't believe what some companies won't do for money... Baker Bites Azs!)

I agree, I am getting final prices tomorrow, and will pay for faster shipping if need be. It really sucks. But at least now we know we will get these hoses taken care of.

The hoses are now going through Louis Anaya and I dumped Baker Precision. Funny thing is she didn't seem to care one bit and that pissed me off. I got off the phone before I got crazy. Louis will keep us posted much better than Baker did and he already has an open account with the company for the hoses. these new units will be the Samco units that he sells on his webpage, just a few bucks cheaper and the shipping will be included. If there is anyone against this change please get a hold of me.

Brent, since I can't be there to buy you a beer... take a big dose of "Thank You" from me.

I'm impressed by how well you've stuck with this, despite all the frustrations. We really need to spread the word about Baker, though. There is really no reason anybody in our community should support them in any way. There are businesses that are cheap and there are businesses that sell for cheap.

Thanks a whole lot.

Later,

Mark

Mad props to ya Brent. Thanks for sticking with this through its ups and downs. I'm using my stock hoses for the turbo swap, as much as I didn't want to, and will switch to the blues soon I hope. later

I have spread word to most Nissan owners that I have talked to. If you need any type of silicone hose then go to hose techniques or head over to Louis Anaya's shop. There is nothing at Baker that you can't find at other places, and Baker isn't any cheaper really.

I will be talking to Louis for updates prolly weekly. I would imagine that this company Samco will be much faster and smoother than Baker ever was.

I really felt bad that it had to come to this, but the info i was getting from Baker was non-existent, and now you all have access to Louis through the forums and his store, or even AIM (turbochargedb13) if you have questions.
