I can tell you that it is a pretty easy install. YOu have to drain the fluid out of the system, then unbolt the lines all the way around. Then unbolt the pump and brackets. Once the lines are disconnected you loop them and pull most of the PS stuff all at once. I did it when my engine was pulled (the easy way) but it isn't really that bad when even with the engine in. The power steering pump is the hardest part.

Some of you may know this already, but I have one of the FIRST p/s eliminators that Joel made.
I've had mine in my NX for over a year now.
As Joel mentioned before, the RTR p/s elim kit WIIL free up about 10 pounds off the fron end. A little more with an NX as NXen have a larger p/s fluid cooler and longer p/s lines.
And YES I weighed everything that was removed.
The 2HP figure is REAL. I should know, as it was my car that was used to verify the HP gain.
As for steering effort. It will require a bit more effort initially. However, it should only take about a week at the most to get used to it. My NX is daily driven and at this point, I don't even miss the p/s.
For you racers, the RTR p/s elim kit is used on a number of (Tom Paule's and Mike Kojima's, just to name a couple) SE-R cup cars. With the p/s removed there will be no more on/off/on p/s effect, caused by boiling p/s fluid.
And yes, you'll free up quite a bit of real estate under the hood by getting rid of you p/s.
Not to mention that that is one less component to need maintenance.
I don't have a VE (yet), but I know they have a different belt drive system.
I beleive it should work I just wanted to hear your comments on the situation.
What is the deadline for buying this product?
If you can find out if anyone who did a ve swap used the pump from a highport de then you can be sure my kit will fit, worst case scenario would be needing the brackets from a highport de. Hope this helps.

I would like to add that the pulley is an OEM Nissan part so when it needs to be replaced a part will be available and not leave you stranded. The reliability has been proven to me by Toms Cup car running in its second season with no issues with the kit or the steering rack even under race conditions.

UPDATE for VE people. Shoes59 bolted all of his DE components up to his VE motor. He chost to keep the PS active but if the PS bolts up then my kit will bolt up to the DE highport brackets.
