RTR Power Steering Eliminator Kit - taking orders now!!
I am now taking orders for another run of Random Thoughts Racing Power steering eliminator kits! There may be a redesign that would shed even more weight! The price will still be $148 shipped (as long as machine shop prices dont go up suddenly).
For those not familiar with the kit it gives a 2HP gain on the dyno, frees up quite a bit of engine bay space and reduces bad front end weight by 10+lb!
I expect to be able to ship by the end of the month (april). Please email me directly at randomthoughtsracing @ yahoo.com if you are seriously interested in ordering a kit. I accept credit cards through PayPal! Thanks
My wife is going to drop kick me!!
I can hear it now!!
"First you need nitrous, then you need a purge valve, then you need an eliminator kit.............."
Let me discuss the issue with my "financial advisor"

I have to say, anyone even thinking about doing it better jump on it. i got the last two regular ones and am soooo impressed with them. If i had another SR20 car I would buy another.

Nate, yes it will work on any SR20 car. I have it on my BB DET nowit just bolts up in place of the power steering pump then you yank all the rest of the crap out of the engine bay. You use one stock bolt and two brackets and the rest are provided.
RTR - Was shocked to see my DET pic on your web page! Glad it helps a little. (Just wished my brackets were painted then)

Lowport sr20's have a slightly smaller pump and need one of the brackets from a highport motor (unless Nissan used multiple pumps in those years). This has not yet been tested on a b15 but will be after this run of kits.

It replaces a heavy cast iron pump, fluid lines, finned cooler (some have these), resoivoir, and fluid with a machined alumin block and a pulley (OEM Nissan) running on bearings.
Alright I have just one more question...because I am seriously thinking about getting this. How hard is it to steer the car afterwards? My dads Suzuki Swift didnt have PS, but that was also a very small car...and it was only hard to turn when going less than like 5mph....how about on a 200sx?
What Nate said. I'm more concerned about getting a hernia when driving through a parking lot, I've driven many heavy cars without PS at speed and you really don't notice the lack of it, but at low speeds you almost need a 4 point harness to keep you from standing up in the seat when steering. How does it feel in the sentra/200sx?

Well, I might have to pass up on this one AGAIN.
Theres just too much going on right now.
Im the BUDGET RACER.
I still have rims with no tires I need to get on my car.
If anything changes you'll be the first to know.

Comparing to other cars that dont have PS or doing the turn the ignition off going down a hill and see how it is to steer methods are not accurate tests of what an se-r feels like with the PS removed.
You can no linger steer around a parking lot with one finger. But the effort is not extreme at all. Your driving technique will adjust (like using both hands like you should anyway) and soon you wont even notice the PS is gone.
