Par Gear Group Buy...cleared Up

First I am the one running this groupbuy. I didn't want it to seem like I hijacked the thread from blackb13. I must agree that with our names being similar it was confusing, for this I apologize. I set up the details with par and I am the one in Direct communication with PAR. This groupbuy is for Synchro and Dog gearsets only. LSD groupbuy will be done afterward. Any internals other than the gears and the LSD can be asked about via e-mail(ex: bulk rings, seals, etc.). The dog gearset will only be offered in stock SE-R ratios at this time. All 5 gears will be offered for the dogset. The synchro set will be offered in stock SE-R ratios or G20 ratios. All 5 gears will be offered on the Synchro set. All custom ratios wil be discussed one on one with me and will be done by the same time as the rest are. THESE CUSTOMS SETS WILL NOT DELAY THE REST OF THE SHIPMENT.

DOG GEAR SET: $2,200USD plus shipping from Florida

Main shaft
Pinion shaft
Crown wheel
1st gear
2nd gear
3rd gear
4th gear
5th gear
5th pinion
1&2 Hub
1&2 Slider
3&4 Hub
3&4 Slider
5th Hub
5th Slider

Synchro gearset (Stock SE-R or G20 ratios): $2,000USD plus shipping from Florida I have added common translations for these parts because it seems that there is some confusion on what they are.

Main shaft
Pinion shaft <-----input shaft
Crown wheel <----final gear
1st gear
2nd gear
3rd gear
4th gear
5th gear
5th pinion<-----5th input gear(it goes on the input shaft)

I notice a lot of people asking what else they need to replace. Well that sort of depends on how messed up your tranny is. Here is a the list of all other parts inside the tranny. I will be setting up a way for people to call and get (hopefully) special pricing on this stuff. Unfortunatly due to the varying amount of items you will all need in the tranny I feel it willl be easier for you to deal directly with the source for this stuff.

reverse idler gear
reverse idler bushing
reverse idler spacer
snap ring
spacer
I.S front bushing
5th gear needle bearing
baulk ring
coupling sleeve
spread ring
5th stopper
snap ring
I.S. bearing
M.S. front bearing
Steel ball
baulk ring
1st gear needle bearing
reverse main gear(just a coupling sleeve)
insert spring
1st and 2nd synchro hub
2nd outer baulk ring
2nd gear synchro cone
2nd inner baulk
2nd and 3rd bushing
3rd inner baulk
3rd synchro cone
3rd outer baulk
coupling sleeve
3rd and 4th synchro hub
insert spring
baulk ring
4th gear bushing
spacer
M.S. bearing
c ring
c ring holder
snap ring
snap ring
diff. side bearings
speedometer stopper
speedometer drive gear
DIFF

You will not need EVERY part, but you may need some. I will hopefully post today where you can get these fine, fine parts

With the Dog gearset you basically throw out all internals of your tranny and install the parts. With the synchro set it you use your synchro parts with the new gears. Cryo can be done, but par said it was not needed. They do everything to certain specs and did not recommend cryo-ing their gears. If you do want it and don't have access to the facilities I can have it done for you locally.

PAYMENT INFO:
All gearsets can be paid in full or 50% now and 50% prior to delivery. All payments will need to be postmarked by June 19th, 2003. This gives you approximatly 1 month to collect the money to send. I will contact you approximatly 1 month before the second payment is due to give you a reminder and time to collect the second 50% if you did not pay in full from the start. You will also be charged shipping at that time. If you live close to someone on the board that is in the group buy I will ship pairs of gearsets for the price of one. So if you get two sent to the same address I will only charge shipping on one. If you get 4 sent to the same address I will only charge for two, etc ,etc.

Orders should be sent to PARGEARSET@HOTMAIL.COM. Please include the following data in your mail

Full name
Address
City
State
Zip
Phone numbers(a number that I can contact you at any given time)
what parts you want
how you would like to pay
what year and model(I obviously know the make )

finally any questions or concern you may have.

Please input this data as close as you can to the setup I just stated above. Basically don't put it all on one line. I have delt with large dollar orders before and feel rest assured that your money will be safe. I have been at the same location for over 15 years and this is a concrete business not some guy working out of his garage. I have been mentioned or featured on NPM a few times and have been a long time Nissan community member.

I appreciate everyones paitence with getting this all setup. As you can understand this isn't has easy as a shift knob group buy where you pick one of four colors and thats it. If you need to contact me at anytime day or night(as some of you know when calling me at like 9:30pm at my house..lol(I know what you are feeling Dre..lol)) There is really no problem, just use common courtesy. My cell phone number is 813-376-5128 you will have great luck in contacting me via this number and if you leave a message I will get back to you within the day.

Once again sorry for all the confusion. Hopefully this will clear everything up.

Carlos

P.S.- if I forgot to mention anything please e-mail me with it.

I know that some of you may be a bit aprehensive about this group buy since it's for such a high dollar item. I'd just like to add that I have purchased a $1700 HKS GT3037 from Carlos Faxas (93blackbird) and was very pleased with how smoothly and professionally the transaction took place.

I'd really like to see this group buy become successful and hopefully this may help ease some nerves out there.

Cool, I got the email from Carlos at the end of last week so I knew what was up, but I am glad we have a new thread that will focus on ordering. I am surely in for the synchro set in G20 ratios and will most likely buy new synchros, seals and bulk rings at the same time. It is funny, the synchro set ends up costing more, cause I won't use the used synchros in my tranny on these new gears. I will easily have payment in my the June 19th deadline. Thanks Carlos.

Brent

no problem and I am also in the midst of getting all the details for the following things

LSD( waiting on KAZZ and NISMO)

Redline Shockproof

misc. transmission parts

Assembly at my shop so all you do is bolt it up and fill it up

All the was mentioned was Baulk rings, if you guys actually want the new synhro HUBS and what not it starts get kinda expensive. I really don't think you will need new gears. You could do the next level and just get them cryoed if they look decent with no cracks or what not and just change the Baulk rings. Just e-mail me the order Brent and I will talk to you about all the other parts.

At this time though I jsut want to concentrate on getting orders for the gears in. All the other stuff can be paid with the second payment or whenever we decide via phone conversation

aww.... damnit... I won't have the money for a year or so. For reference though, how much power can the syncro'd gears handle? The dogset could handle 500whp easy or something like that right?

What? Synchro gears? I thought the set came with ALL the gears? All the gears as in the ones on the main shaft are one with the shaft and the ones on the pinion shaft are individual and slid on that shaft. Maybe you mean sliders and/or baulk rings(also known as synchros)

Carlos, thanks for clearing up the details on this thread so far. Thanks for putting the deal together as well. I'm looking forward to doing business with you.

No problem Thomas, thanks for your faith and I look forward to doing business with you as well. One thing I do notice is that there seems to be some confusion on the names of parts and what not. I will very soon post a picture ofthe FSM and point out to everyone exactly what we are talking about here. Other than that, trust me that everything will fit and work fine, no matter what we call it..lol

Carlos, you are the "suck"... proud member of CSERT.

This is the biggest tease... you know full well that my budget for this year is all spoken for, wheel/tires, upgrade brakes and suspension.

I hope the hell we can do another group buy next year. By then, some of my other costs will be down, i.e. daycare, other baby stuff.

You're the "bomb" Carlos. Don't think I won't be asking about this again next January.

Carlos is a really good guy, folks. Knows his stuff and is easy to work with. Plus, if you ever need help, he's one of the first guys that will volunteer.

Later,

Mark
