I like the s4's alot. I didn't seem to loose any low end due to them. The ecu helps out a lot as far a a jump idle. The redline rocks too! The idle is a little lumpy, not much though. The idle doesn't jump around too much. Stays at about 950 give or take 25 rpms.
I had tuned the timing with the cams in on a dyno dynamics dynamometer,(more like a mustang dyno, rather than a dynojet). The dyno operators were kinda new at running a fwd car since this is an awd dyno. Although the numbers were low I gained 4.5 more hp and 4 ft/tq from 2 base runs on this dyno, by setting timing down to 13.
Also tried 17 degrees which netted me 2 more hp.The cams are VERY sensitive to base ignition timing.
on the dyno i started with 122 hp as 2 base runs, timing at 15. After 5 pulls and $100 lighter I ended up with 126.4 hp or or .5
keep in mind this is not a reflection of dynojet numbers as there is a load put on the car. To keep things in perspective I went with a bunch of friends from Subaru's I-Club.com. Stock WRX dynoed at 169 on this dyno and stock to mildly modifed 2.5 RS were dynoing between 100 and 110 hp.
About the black grill, I painted it black, didn't like the green, just something about the mid 90's cars that same body colored grill look which annoys me. All of 'em vw's hondas and nissans. So i painted it black.
Nice car-u r a perfect candidate for that beautiful CAI brace i made-check it ut in "items for sale/wanted"

nice Art,
how do you like the suspension? Looks very clean, how many miles you puton that thing since the last time I saw ya. Where did you dyno it at? Talk to ya soon.
I like the suspension. Car handles very nicely. The adjustability of the AGX's is a great feature. So far I have almost 60,000 miles on the car. Last year I bought it with a tick less than 30K.
I dynoed the car at Adrenalin Motorsports, they are very close to Springfield.. forgot what town it was. Very good group of folks.
There pretty reasonable at working out a deal with the number of pulls. Their Corrado is on the cover of EuroTuner. Its a beast.Adrenalins Site
Cool Art,
Yeah I am catchin up with the miles. Tryin not to. Where did you get your Ground Controls? I have been looking for a set and I am just shoppin around. Talk to ya soon.
Your dyno numbers should be at least 140 whp with the trap speed you got. My car ran a 15.2 @ 90mph with 141whp and 130ft-lbs. I'm sure a 14.9 is in there, but I suck at drag racing, and I didn't want to push it too much.
mark: I got them like 6 months ago on from a groupbuy on groupbycenter.com $399 w/shipping.
eric: i'm pretty sure as well that on DYNOJET it would dyno higher. This was a different type of dyno though. Someone more familar with the dynos can give you more information.
