What do you guys think of the junkyard NX?
I actually bought it from a junkyard in Dec. of 2003, and I finally got it running in October of '04. I had a chance to wash it today since it was nice, and I thought this pic turned out pretty well. It actually looks better in the pic than in person.
You can see basically everything that has been done to it by clicking on my link in my sig, but I recently installed a Nismo AFPR and gauge to turn down the fuel pressure. Quick list of major mods: SR20VE, auto to 5 speed conversion, Hyperco 2's, and my newly acquired Rota C8's w/ ES100's.
From the pic, it is hard to believe that the car has not been waxed in who knows how long, as I have not had the time yet - I would rather get in running right first.
Josh, I'm jealous. Tell you what, I have 3 kids... twin 2 year olds(boy and girl) and a 5 year old. You tell me which one you want, and I'll bring him/her to the convention and we can do an even swap.
Like your priorities, car looks good. Is this what you're bringing to Texas? If so, can I bum a ride... never ridden in a VE powered car before.
Just joking about the kid swap, of course you know that. Sometimes, though... having twins going through the terrible 2's at the same time, makes the idea somewhat tempting. Oh by the way, only the oldest boy and the girl is fully potty trained. My youngest son thinks it's the funniest thing in the world to whip "it" out and pee on my wife's leg... the strongest thing I've ever done in my life is keep a straight face when that happens.
C8's look really good on the car, too. Glad you like the ES100's.
Peace,
Mark

Old car: 1999 Sentra SE-L Turbo: USDM sr20de, t25 turbo, hot shot intercooler kit, BIG ass fmic, nismo fpr, autometer fp gauge/boost gauge, mbc set at stock boost for now! 7psi= more traction>11psi=less traction.
Great looking NX, and its good that you brought it back from the dead How much did you pick it up for if you dont mind me asking? I found my classic in a junkyard for only $800.
Thanks for the good words guys. It is slowly coming along, and I paid $650 for it when I bought it. The body is in really good condition for having salty winters. Just two little spots of rust (A-pillar and right in the middle of the hatch). Next on the list is header and exhaust.
Mark, I'll have to think about that trade idea since the 3.5 year old girl would like someone to play with, but they get expensive. -as you know.
I won't have anywhere near the fastest VE, as I'm still DE manifold and stock exhaust. Serban's car should be very quick, but a little here and a little there is my goal. Obviously, when it takes 10 months for the car to even run.
I never thought of that color looks good anyway, but sh*t, the wheels just does it for me. How hard was it to installed the VE, straight or more headache than the standard JDM? Well, see you guys at the convention.
I love hearing story about "Junk Yard" treasure... got mine for 500 bucks.

VE = easy. auto to 5 speed = pain in the a$$. I think everything is relative; to me the engine swap was easy, but to someone with less experience it could be very difficult. Just take your time, and anything can be done.
I'll try to get it cleaned up before the Convention, but other projects take precidence - like re-install Progress rear bar.
Nice car bro. Ive talked to you a couple times..we need to get together and shoot the breeze sometimes. I have a kid also and we talked about switching me to a ve one day if you remember that. I would go to texas but its my wifes b day that weekend and we all ready made other plans...get in touch with me.
