painted some parts

finally got my bumper painted to match half way close!!! we did it in my friends garge and i think it turned out damn good for only being the 2nd bumper he has ever painted. it hasent been wet sanded or anything that will happen in a month or so when the paint is compleatly cured. and while we were watching the paint dry he came up with the idea to paint the indise of the grill, which gave my car a whole new look. i love it!!! what do you guy think?

and i figured you guys would want the money shot to

You don't want to wait to long before wetsanding, you should wetsand after about 1-2 days. You want to wetsand when the paint is still fresh as its still softer and will buff ALOT easier. I use 1500 if the orange peel is heavy, or for defects, then a lights sanding with 2000. For light orange peel and decent paint i just use the 2000. I use Meguiars Unigrit Wetsanding paper and a Durablock. For the sanding marks I use 3M PII Rubbing Compound and my Milwaukee High-Speed Buffer, with Compounding Pad and go over it with 3M Swirl Mark Remover to get rid of the swirls and hologramming.

If you have never wetsanded before, be very careful. Do the majority of the bumper with a block to ensure an even "cut" and then do the rest by hand very lightly. I ONLY use Unigrit papers, throw them in a bucket of water and like an OZ of carwash soap and let the papers soak for a few hours or overnight. Keep the surface VERY wet when sanding and check the progress every 10-15 strokes of the paper. I fill a a spray bottle with water and like a half oz of carwash soap (for the lubrication) to keep the panel i am working on wet. You just want to see a smooth dull finish, you see the imperfections POP out when sanding if you're using a block.

It will take a buffer to get the sanding marks out, If compounding by hand, it will kill your arm before the marks come out. LOL.

The grill looks great, like s 98 honeycomb grill, as far as the painted black center.

Also what paint did you use.. basecoat/clear coat? Acrylic Enamel? Did you use a Rubberized Primer? Flex Agent?
