thanks, guys.

Ben--
relevant specs: body=rust free.

i have no specs on it yet, really. i just bought it as-is. the swap was done just before i picked it up. now it's my project. i actually am not as well versed in the sr20 as you fellows are, so i ask that you bear with me through some of the dumber questions.

i joined the forum to get my head around the engine's capabilities and the accepted methods of modification. i see from your photos that most of you are running the engine transverse, so we'll have some differences in those areas, but one of the things i like about the 510 so much is that it's RWD.

my daily driver is a subaru 2.5 rs, and i know much more about the ej25 than the sr20.

so, NissanTuner, the answer to your question is: "huh?"

Ah ok. I too have a RWD SR20DE, except mines in a 240sx.

They make aftermarket headers for the engine, however in my application they dont fit due to hitting the steering column.

I was inquiring why you were running the stock manifold, seeing if you knew if any of the aftermarket headers would fit.

i don't know yet. the guy who did the swap told me that the stock header, only modified slightly, was the best to use for the torque curve of this engine. i haven't had the chance to drive it yet. there is wayyyy too much salt on the roads of chicago for me to put a datsun out there, so i have to wait to see how i like it. it'll be constantly evolving, though.

i eventually want to have a DET in this car. not sure that i want to turbo the DE. i figure it would be better to NA tune the DE until i have the time and money to buy a DET, get all the plumbing for the turbo, etc.

how's yours set up?

yeah, the real downside to having this setup is that there aren't a hell of a lot of them out there (not nearly as many as in 240SXs at least), and the knowledge base is narrower. i'm plodding through it though.

dude, i love 510s. that's bad ass. you should definately turbo that de. is it 10:1? how many miles are on the engine? and a general question to anyone who knows, what car's did the n/a rwd sr20 come in? some guy at napa was telling me that there was a nissan hardbody with the 2.0, but i just figured he was full of sh*t.

oh hell yes. i got a good lead on c/f or f/g hoods and trunks too

eventually, i'll probably put a BRE lip spoiler on and cut a bit of the valance out to make room for a partially exposed FMIC. that'll be nasty looking.
