I don't think I've ever posted here before, so I figured now is a good time to start...
The car:
The piston...
The rebuild in progress
I've had the car for over 2 years now, did an s13 sr20det motor swap a year and a half ago, installed a gt28rs in july and the piston ring blew in august (suspect deatchwerks injectors but can't say for sure) and it's been down ever since. Just got my block/crank/head back from the machine shop a week ago and I plan to have the car running by the end of march.
New engine will be sporting:
86.5mm CP 9:1 pistons
Eagle rods
Cometic HG
ARP head studs
HKS valve springs
Crower titanium retainers
JWT valve guides
OEM intake valves
Supertech inconnel exhaust valves
HKS rocker arm stoppers
HKS 264 step 1 cams
Greddy intake manifold
Why do you suspect the deatshhworks injectors? I personally would never use them however many people here seem to rave about them. Perhaps it;s the price but personally the idea of re-drilled injectors is not appealing.

I don't wanna badmouth his product, but I had the car running fine with the gt28rs installed at 11psi. Installed the injectors, got a good condition z32 maf, and had my ecu tuned by enthalpy. The car was running bad right from the start, he sent me a few more tunes but it was never perfect. Scott's explanation was that he was unable to tune for the injector latency since deatchwerks (at the time) did not have the equipment to measure that. I can only assume it was the injectors that caused the detonation, there is no proof obviously.
Apprently deatchwerks has since gotten a machine to measure the latency which should help in tuning, but with the amount of money i've spent so far on this unplanned build, im going to pick up some nismo/tomei 740's =]

Old car: 1999 Sentra SE-L Turbo: USDM sr20de, t25 turbo, hot shot intercooler kit, BIG ass fmic, nismo fpr, autometer fp gauge/boost gauge, mbc set at stock boost for now! 7psi= more traction>11psi=less traction.
