de rods should be fine, you shouldn't even need the 8.5-1 pistons, but to each his own.

stock probably, you dont want to change the thickness or it will mess with your timing, ect, because of the chain.

just a little update. bottom end is together. just got a head gasket and some other goodies for future reference. i have set a july dedline for myself!!!

went with the vvl metal

hey that's what I am shooting for. July for sure, but I have to get all the parts still. I will post pics of my work when I get some more done.

I just got my maf and injectors this week.

Hey dude, take your time and do it right. I should know, I've been turbocharging my ride for over a year.

Do it right the first time, or face doing it a whole buncha times over again.

^^no doubt.....come july though it's either fix what i have or install new motor....i.e. inspection month!!! assembly and install is not the time consuming part that holds me back, it's the income rate

i am building my motor seperate from my DD and installing and assembling as i order the parts. soon as shes ready, out with the old, in with the new!!!

ewww, do it right and get ya a Calum Realtime....and since you are just a few hours away from CT the guys at Bishop Motorsports and Greg Amy know how to tune it quite well since Calum wet up there. Safc is a crutch IMHO

hmm.....crutch eh, i thaught i was doing good here.

edit: i am honestly still quite unsure what to do about an ecu. all the reading i have done just doesnt really sink in, or make sense.
if someone could shoot me a PM that is willing to talk, explain things, and help me understand, i would be forever greatful!!!

the process has come to an abrupt hault. tonight while assembling the bottom end, my block cracked down all 4 cylinder walls.

seems we assembled the main caps in backwards.

anyone got a short block for sale??? asap!!!
