mr gregsun is the man....the correct pick up oil tube came today straight from JWT.

anyone ever doing the VE oil pump upgrade on a DET block needs the correct pick up tube associated.

Oil pan and the rest of the bottom end are buttoned up!
on to the HLA, cams, and chain. lastly paint the VC

slowly but surely, my dream will become a reality!
assuming the motor doesnt pop when i turn the key

Looks like its coming along nicely. Your project is taking as long as mine. It will be all worth it once you get to drive the car.

It entertains me everytime I see that your kitchen is your engine workshop...great stuff

not a whole lotta progress, but i did get some of the tedious stuff done.
i got the water pipes on today, along with the thermostat. instead of waiting for shipping, i bought a roll of gasket material and cut my own.

i painted the intake manifold, thermostat housing cover, and another H20 tube. the prep was the tedious part! it all matches the valve cover.
i will get pics up as soon as my batteries charge for the digi cam.

i went to install the cams after all was painted, but i seem to have lost the
bolts for the cam gears. DOH!
stay tuned!

the beggining of my custom guage pod for the dash......

i whiddled grooves in the wood for the bezels to sit in.
varied heights and epoxied solid at an angle towards the driver

some turbo cups from dunkin donuts for visors, and a graham cracker box for protection:

word to the wise, when it says use outside or in a well ventilated area.....they mean it!!! my head is mushy!!!

i forgot to snap off a pics complete with all the fiberglass on and trimmed.
i will post the pic of it all bondoed when it comes through the email. my batteries are dead again for the digi. i hate that thing!!!

time to sand sand sand! i will paint today!!!

i HATE sanding! 80 grit, by no means perfect. i will use the bed liner spray on stuff which will hide any imperfections that i left behind.

primed....the pic makes it look like hell. it really looks better than that!
one more pic to go....just gotta go buy the bedliner stuff

finished product:
im going to run a trim piece around it. by no means perfect, it coulda been, but i am satisfied with the results!!!

installed pics maybe this weekend
