i watched a show once on jessie james. he talked about how he had tools at his disposal including a welder. he could never afford custom stuff for his bikes or cars, so he just fabbed everything up to his liking.
i adopt that mentality whenever possible!!!
besides, thats what i wanted and i couldnt find one for sale

got a bunch of missing bolts i needed like cam gear bolts. i misplaced them.
wooops
i am so psyhced now. i almost puked when installing the cams. ive never done it and heard horror stories of them breaking. but follow th eFSM and all is well. the key is patience....lots of patience!!!
my fears disappeared when the crank turned with the cams and chain nice and smooth. DOPE!!!!! its not a race, but it is so on to finish!
i also got busy on some rocker rot....much needed!
this side isnt done, i had to go somewhere and it is supposed to rain so i wanted to get some primer on the metal spots. i no longer have access to a welder, so i used fiberglass. itll hold up for a few years.
It looks like everything is coming along nicely. I remember doing my 1st cam swap.. I sweat bulletts for 4hours straight! It all worked out so taking the extra time to 2x check *everything* was well worth it.
Keep up the good work and when your done I'll let you loose on my turbo project.. I need some motivation to get everything bolted onto the car.
On a side note did you figure out the intake manifold piping? I used to have some good picture of the routing up on the net. I'll see if I can dig them up and post them here if you still need them.
thanks mike. yea, was gonna be purple and grey, but is winding up more purple than grey....lol
it's the H20 piping that i am having issues with. i obviously have a perfect map on the motor in my car, but cannot see what i need to see with it all tucked away under and behind everything.
any and all pics will be greatly useful though i am sure!!!
i only threaded in the oil pressure switch today, but it is more than i had done yesterday. get crackin on your build...one switch at a time and it'll be done soon enough!!!
ah dude, no apologies needed.... big-ups for the effort!!! MADD appreciated!!!
i think i have figured out the the routing all but two nipples. they are different sizes and have concluded one is coolant feed for the turbo, and the other is vac for the waste gate.
my last issue is all the damn conflicting info i find on restrictor size for the turbo. i am going to call atp tomorrow to bounce ideas. i need to figure this out and get lines made or configured to swap this weekend and next week!!! next week is my paid va-ca and projected finish/swap date!
woot woot.....my motor is done!!!
next week i am on va-ca from work, great timing!!!
i will be starting the swap on tuesday. a spot is reserved at my boys house in the barn. it is so on!!!!!!!
i still gotta figure out a few quirks, but whatev!
next time i post up will probably be saying it either was a success, or failure
here is the finish product! last pic in the kitchen.....next shot will be the money shot!!!!! sometime this week. i just hope my banjo bolts get here this week!!!
banjo bolts came today!!! WORD!
everything is falling into place.
here is a pic.......back to the original scene of page one where it all began 2.5 years ago!!!
thas my motor in my boy's barn awaiting its transplant. thas my boy tyler. he's going to talk alot of sh*t when he gets home from work. his brosky will be helping me do the work. lol
Sweet! Dont you just like taking on huge projects like this? I have been working on my 94 basically every day for the past 3 months. It seems like forever but its comming along pretty well. It was an E, but now it may as well be an SE-R. Its strictly for drag racing, completely gutted, slicks, etc. We fired it up this past week n/a, I was kind of skeptical since 3 of us (we may as well be some sort of race team) built the motor. None of us have actually puta motor back together from the ground up. Plus I ripped the wiring harness to peices, removed 95% of unnecessary wires. That took longer than the motor build. I have been working on the suspension for the past 2 weeks, Anyhow we have a long way to go but maybe we will see you at NED soon.
