awesome man, i bet your excited as hell. its been way too long man, Your project has come a long way and congrats on finishing it. When i had my first SE-R i knew i wanted to turbo it but for some reason things changed and i made the worst mistake of selling it, never left the se-r world and two years later came back and got a cleaner one and it wasnt 7 months later and the JDM motor i put in was turbod, S4 cams in all. You will love the pull of the car with the cams in there. Its gonna be insane. Just break it in properly before you step on it.

Again big round of applause to you sir. I know the feeling. I will never go back, haha. This one is here to stay.

Turbod feels awsome.

wake up message? on the phone? i sent that at about 4pm. sorry if it didnt get to you till the am and woke you up...my B!

what we did was we yanked out the tranny and clutch and went to town!!!
we thought it was rear main seal and only after destroying the RMS that was in there, did we notice the missing galley plugs. so instead of just pluggin the holes......we pulled the pans and did a rear main seal. luckily i had a spare!!!

sigh, lesson learned!!! go over your machine shops work!

hehe.. don't worry about it. It was funny I didn't hear it last night but my phone is a pos anyway.

Glad you noticed the leak before it destroyed anything. Was the clutch disk toasted?

Glad you got the car running finally. Good stuff!

Unfortunately I learned to check over machine work the hard way too. My shop decided to install piston four on the rod backwards. I didn't realize it until after I had installed it the block and rotated everything. I broke a oil squirter because the recess was on the other side...niccccee.

yea, if ever i get machine work done again....it wont be from R+R in derry!!!
and at that, i will scope out their work before i install!!!

mike: the clutch got a little wet....only some spots. we douched it in laquer thinner in hopes to "pull" out what oil it could. as for now, the clutch is grabbin just fine. it only had maybe a couple miles on it, but looked to have ever very so barely slightly to what we could see break in evenly. not much to tell at the moment. we will see down the road how she holds up.

my buddys tune on the calum realtime is choppy at the moment, but it runs. as she begins to break in it slowly keeps leaning out. it struggles as she leans to stay at an idle with the cams. on the ride home tonight it began to break up all through the rev's and stallin at lights.

the lower oil pan has a slight leak.....whatever!!! haha i will fix that on the next oil change.

all seems well for now though!

this is the best pic i can produce short of searching the forum.
they are the allen head screw plugs that feed into the block and head.

These plugs are the ones he had the issue with: Were all three missing Leon or just the two?

Now on the front of the block (front = where the oil pump is in this case) there are a few more:

Did you also check those ones out?

BTW this is the same place that bead blasted my head (I asked to have it done because I didn't know any better... doh!). I fixed it by popping out all the aluminum galley plugs in the head, giving it a good cleaning, then tapping the holes and inserting allen plugs like the ones in the block.

Nasty!!

naw, not all three....just the two.

i remember your issue with the plugged bead blasting.
nasty to say the least!

so, i hadnt yet disclosed this information....but the crappy header had to get bolted onto the motor. this comes as a result of my turbo inexperience.

the car became real choppy, breaking up and stalling last night. i just figured the tune needed to be gone over again since my boy had to write a hole new map as a result of no turbo.
we concluded it was a bad injector in cylinder #1.

i come into this turbo game with little understanding. i come out with a whole lot of knowlegde and a successful build. as we all can see, i have been at it for well over two years now. if we compare posts from feb '06 to now, and see that i have a running motor, we can conclude that i have become alot more knowledgable.

i learn as i go, typically the hard way which always seems to result in a loss of $$$ from my wallet!

WHATEVER!!!

so my 8.5:1 built NA sr20 sentra is parked untill i aquire new injectors.

EDIT: i had bashed another forum member when it all really boils down to my inexperience. i was sold some parts that didnt work out to well and have since moved on in my process. both the build and life.

i actually painted with high heat (1500'f) primer and paint.

PREP IS EVERYTHING!!!
clean real good: dirt, grease, and oil!
i scuffed everything with a wire wheel, and wire brush for the hard to reach places. between gasoline and denaturized alcohol, i removed all the grease and oil.

not peelin yet!

the pics are in this thread somewhere.

oh yea, prothanes are rugged as fukk!!! SICK!!!! i love em!!!

good luck, get building man!
