T78 1jz Supra completed

The pics are kinda crappy but they are of my brother's 87' newly completed single turbo Supra. Those of you who know me have seen it when it was twin turbo. It was really quick and fun... it kept up with me once he got the cams. But now he went with a Greddy T78 turbo to satiate his power needs. It will be inspected by Greddy East Coast within the week hopefully and possibly tuned there as well. Ill post better pics when i get the chance.

For those Supra fans, this car has been through it all. The mod list begins with 89 body parts.
HKS HiperMax II
HKS EGT,Water and Oil, temp, Boost Oil pressure gauges
HKS GT spec 3 Row intercooler and piping
Rare HKS HyperMax exhaust
HKS EVC V
HKS 264 cams
HKS 2jz oil cooler kit
Greddy Ultimate
Greddy full T78 turbo kit
Greddy Catch Can
Koyo Radiator
Jic control arm bar
Blitz ecu
550cc inj soon to be upgraded
TT fuel pump
Aeromotive FPR
ACT Clutch
TRD flywheel(copy)
Upgraded diff.
there is some stuff im forgetting but thats the jist of it.

Wait so he has a MK III Supra with a swapped 2JZGTE MK IV twin turbo engine into it, that he's just converted to a single T78 turbo setup? Just a little confused, because I believe the MKIII Supra's came from the factory with I believe a single turbo engine (like 7MGTE or some crap like that), and the 2JZ TT engines came in the MK IV (93.5+) Supras. Regardless, sounds like a sweet setup. Can't wait to see the pics.

he most likely did that because
A: the 2JZGTE has aftermarket support and is probably much better than the 7MGTE, kinda like an sr20det vs. a KA16
B. one big single turbo gives a better power increase than two turbos at once. havent you heard? single is the latest craze

Sorry to clarify, he orginally had the 7mgte in there. After upgrading the turbo, VPC and fuel, it just wastnt enuf and he wanted somehting different. So then he added the 1jz which is a 2.5 liter twin turbo engine. It is the smaller brother of the 2jz motor but with the same power potential. The 3.0 is just a short block away.

I understand that, I wasn't dissing the single turbo setup, I was just trying to picture the right engine with the right car.
