I call her.... PROJECT PURPLE!

This is the story of a Sentra SE-® to be known as PROJECT PURPLE

Swap time: April 1st, 2006 – April 13th, 2006

NOTE: All images were taken with a T-mobile sidekick. This phone has really bad photo quality so some pictures may be a little dark or fuzzy. I may update and lighten pics later, please just bare with me.

NOTE II: People always ask me “Why does it say Purple?” Its part of the idea I got when I got it repainted. It’s painted white with a purple pearl coat over it so that in certain lights you can see purple accents in it, as well as purple metallic flakes. It did say purple haze on the side at first, but being that its so closely related to drugs and also a local gang is named the same, I reduced it to just purple.

NOTE III: Could only post 15 pics at a time.... so i double posted for ya guys!

Anyway, being the lazy person I am, I decided to just make this a thread about how it started, and the end result instead of a progression thing. Car started this year with a slipping clutch, bad passenger CV joint, and a rod knock. I was really in need of a new engine or new car. Tax returns came back and I decided to spend that money on a new engine. I have wanted to get an SR20 for the past year now so this was the time. I did my research and this is what I got.

Found an SR20 w/tranny on Ebay from a JDM Engine seller named GT Japanese Engine, Inc. *** a starting bid of $495 +s/h. I made a bid on it and had no challengers on it. So I got that shipped to me first.

Next I found a Megan Racing 2.5” exhaust for $309 shipped.

I got a Fidanza 8.5 lb flywheel and Spec Stage II Clutch package deal from Ultrarev for $570 Shipped!

Also got OBX header of Ebay for 207 shipped (feel a little ripped off, but they work…)

Prothane mounts off ebay for $63 or so.

Got a bunch of other things I need from FNSIKSER. I love that guy! (No homo). Not including the Prothane mounts of course.

A Few other MISC. things:

Look Ma! No Antenna!

Ebay Short Shifter I installed late 2005.

Got bored one day and started piecing stuff together because I started reading bad things about OBX. Oh yea, That’s a 2.5” high flow Cat by the way.

So anyway…. On with the show! Now this part is going to go really fast being I didn’t want to get my phone to dirty during the process.

good job on the swap. however, i hear those ebay short shifters will cause some problems in the long run. i'd recommend the B&M
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-M-SHORT-THROW-SHIFTER-MAXIMA-SENTRA-ALTIMA-G20-NX_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33736QQitemZ80582696 03QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

The sell em on ebay also

I was thinking today of accutally mudding the wing holes and installing a third brake light.. in the mind of the trunk.. i will photoshop a prototype of what im thinking to get some feedback later...

they really hurt things? do you remember what they said the shifter affects? they look almost identical except for the shifter knob...
