Yea rust sucks! The worst I have ever delt with. I dont know were to start. The car was in a huge wreck years ago so its not in the best shape even withouth the rust. I plan on cutting out the rust , but not sure how to replace it. The cheapest would be sheet metal, rivets or screws, then some bondo and/or fiber glass. Im only worried around the front of the doors on the rockers. The rest is just less weight.
if you cut out the rust/floor to replace maes sure you get thick enough steel and that you put all those bends and what not back in. you have to rember, it is a unibody so if you just laydown a flat peice of sheet metal it will not be NEARLY as strong. and please weld it in, the floor is a structural part of the car don't just screw it in.
Yeop, flat metal is weaker than bent/curved metal. Luckly I dont have to touch the floor. Thats all surface rust. The rear quarter panels and wheel wells on the other hand, they are real bad.
