and just so you know, I'm not out here saying when I'm satisfied with my build-up I'm going to be able to beat everything on the road, no. I'm just looking for an SE that'll make a few of the Nissan guys around me look twice.
I'm sure pyrocrickett would like it if you guys didn't jack his thread by debating the worthiness of a GA.
Thanks for saying it Seriously guys, this isn't the place for a GA vs SR discussion; I have a GA, so I'm tuning a GA. Yes, this is the SR20Forum, but the only (major) diff between my car and an SE-R is what's under the hood. That's why I'm here: the tremendous support & knowledge available for the B13-15 Sentras, regardless of engine. What I'm doing to my car is applicable to all B13s, E through SE-R. And who knows, maybe an SR swap is in this car's future... just not in the immediately-forseeable one.
You don't have to like the GA or me for havin' one, but at least respect that I'm doin' what I can with what I've got. (And that I'm smart enough to not slap on a body kit & wing & think that I'm now a stoplight slayer )
Pyrocrickett, I commend you in the direction you have taken....suspension first.
See if Toolapcfan still have some Progress rear swaybars ($190?). You really do not need both for what I have read.
L
Thanks!
My research has led me to the same conclusion: stock front (gettin' one from an SE-R 'cause my lil' E didn't come with any!) with a beefy aftermarket rear (ST, Progress, etc) plus some strut tower bars (front lower, esp) equals one mean-handling B13!
EDIT: Updated the side shot on the first page. Hooray no more wheel gap!

UPDATE! Got my 18" MagnaFlow resonator from UPS today and got my new cat-back installed tonight! (Yeah, I was impatient and got a local crush-bent job... but 2" crushed has got to be a lot less restrictive than the tiny-a$$ pipes that used to be there...) My lil' baby sounds pretty sweet right now, and once the resonator & muffler get broken in, she'll sound even better!

Ok, I'll try to get one shot tomorrow, hopefully when I'm getting the ride height all equalized & wheels realigned & tightening up my shifter bracket... lotsa stuff planned for tomorrow evening!
Ok, got my ride height at each corner squared away: 1.5" drop all around. I know, I know, 1" should be the max, but I kinda like how she looks & feels now. This weekend's autoX will tell me if 1.5" is too low Also needing to get the wheels realigned before Sunday.
Got my grounding kit in the mail today & bolted her on! We'll see what kind of improvements it made here in a couple days, I guess...
Finally, I should be making that video tonight for all those interested in seeing/hearing my new exhaust. I've only got my lil' Cannon SD400 to take videos with, so I'm not too sure how the sound'll turn out...
Sorry, video didn't get made again. One of these nights, though, I swear!
Just put in an order for a ST rear sway with ES bushings for F&R (getting an SE-R front sway from RedDragun... huzzah for local d00ds ) Suspension should be 100% ready to go by this weekend for what should be a very fun autoX! My dad is an amateur videographer so maybe this weekend I'll have him put together a little before & after clip of my fighter autoXing. flat cornering > boat-like rolling

Nm... CourtesyNissan doesn't have the ST in stock anymore & it'll take 'em months to get one in So I went with the Addco rear sway... hopin' it'll get here before Sunday's race (yeah, right...)

Are you going to get a paint job and get the dings out eventually?
How about wheels?
Drop looks good. Keep it up and go win that auto cross.
Yeah, dent repair and/or paint job will most likely be the last thing on my list (not to mention the most expensive!) As for wheels, I am & have been on the lookout for some B14 15"s...
Made my lower control arm brace today! Initial SOTP evaluation is that tomorrow's autoX will be muuuuch better than last time (before all of these mods)
Here's the LCAB just before I bolted it on
And here it is in place & lookin' pretty
The best part about my new LCAB is that it was completely, 100% free!! My friend Nick is the captain & co-captain of Wichita State University's Mini Baja and SAE Formula teams (respectively). They have a nice workshop in which they build and tune their cars every weekend, and Nick's nice enough to let me come play, too! He also lets me take whatever scrap pieces they have lying around and make 'em into something like this! (Nick does all of the welding since I'd really eff something up trying to do it myself ) The main bar I made my LCAB out of was a piece of frame tubing that they had just lying in a pile somewhere already bent like that. Nick jokingly threw it at me saying "Here ya go, it's already bent up for ya!" When I went and held it up under my car just for kicks, it actually fit quite well, the bends cleared the exhaust & crossmember almost perfectly! I love having connections
Anyways, I haven't gotten my swaybars yet, but I should have them by next weekend's autoX! That will be a fun race: sweet AGXs w/GCs, fat-ass rear swaybar with a nice OEM SE-R up front, and my oh-so-cool LCAB should make for one sweet-handling Sentra! The only thing that'd make it better is if I got my B14 wheels in and wrapped up in some nice tires by then! But I'm not too hopeful about that; my baby's gonna have to wait a couple races before she can get her new shoes!
