It's actually not that bad; the angle of that front shot and the fact that it's up on stands make it look a lot lower than it is. The second shot is a better angle for seeing how low it hangs. The bar is 1" thick and it's only a few mm under the exhaust and actually behind the crossmember. Haven't hit it yet, and my apartment complex has a ton of speedbumps in the parking lot... I'll get a better shot of it when the car's on the ground.

By the the look of the angle on the pics, it looks no lower than a Progress bar and alot higher than the Stillen....

Put it down and take some more pic...

Alright, big update!

First, today's autoX results!
The stiff GC springs, tighter AGX struts, and my LCAB made a world of difference in how my little econobox handled! I actually had to deal with some oversteer around a few corners!! My friend & I both registered with my car and were turning times on par with a 300ZX, Mitsubishi 3000GT, a turbo RX-7, and even a stock C4 Corvette! (I blame poor driving for the 'Vette, but it's still pretty impressive, IMO ) We were running in STS and I took 3rd while my friend took 2nd (yeah, I know, beat me in my own car... ) The car that beat us was a B15 SE with a SR20 swap. I'm not too ashamed that my little B13 got beat by a B15, especially since it was only by a second or so. I'll post more detailed results when the official times are released, but I'd say my little GA fighter is turning into a pretty potent track star! I just can't wait until next weekend when I'll have my front & rear swaybars on, and possibly even my new 15" B14 rims with some nice, sticky rubber! I love autoXing...

Second, the video featuring my new exhaust system:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...75424273&hl=en
She sounds sooooo much better! I seriously thought I was hearing a bigger car when I was watching my friend's first run, and it wasn't until he was right in front of me that I realized that that nice, deep gurgle was coming from my lil' GA!! I love it!

Finally, new pics of my LCAB with the car on the ground so you can see its ground clearance better:

Its a daily driven reliable grocery getter motor, and it shows. If you are talkin about making more power than sr all motor with bolts ons... wow. The sr motor was made to be boosted and it handles it quite well.

I agree that it is pointless to waste money on a naturally aspirated GA16DE, but turbo'd GA is a completely different animal. The most power a GA16DE has pushed out to date in turbo form is 265 whp, by aminidab, of NF.com and AN fame. You can't say yet that the GA is a waste of time in terms of forced induction...

with low milage soko DE motors being 325 every day, yea GA's are a waste of time. I dont know maybes its just me, but when I build a car I like to have th best option in it. Its like Boosting D series motors, or working with Ka24E instead of ka24de, when something is a cheap to start out better, you should take that option. And saying " O i wanted to be different," thats peoples way of saying "im extra cheap"

Well IMO get the suspension the way it should....then after finalizing that and master the GRIP, then go for the powa..

He knows what he's doing..I like his thinkin'....upgrade the car's footin', gain the skills and then breakout with the power. He'll be alot better driver/autocrosser...

Mad props...

Check post #1 for pics of my new shoes!!

Lol, thanks for the reminder, RedDragun. But like brokeser said, my lil' car needs to handle like a champ so I can gain the drivin' skills of a champ before she'll get the power of a champ.

With respect B14, you don't just jump into a Formula 1 car to begin your racing career.

Pyro, the car sounds pretty nice. Lets see what its like when you get a header. Also, nice rims but won't they hurt your auto crossing because they're heavier? Or will the larger contact patch balance it out?

Short of actually getting them on a scale (which I may need to do), I'd imagine that these are actually lighter than the steelies I had on there. But in either case, I think that the increased grip would be a great enough benefit to offset them possibly weighing more; the general consensus with autoX guys seems to be that getting the widest tire possible on your car (that'll still fit under your fenders) is the best thing you can do.

Props on doing what you want with your money and your car. Thats the point anyways.

When I get my courage up I'll post up my own 1.6-powered ride...and its a 4-door

PS what magnaflow resonator did you get? 18" body length or 18" total length? I made the mistake of putting a Cherry Bomb on and and I need to get rid of that heatscore right away and quieten stuff down a bit.

It's 18" body length, 24" overall. MagnaFlow part #10424.

Minor update:
Got all of the hardware I need to put my F&R swaybars on, but I need to make a few minor adjustments (rear bracket holes need to be a lil' bit bigger & I need to re-tap a jacked-up nut welded to a bracket) but they're goin on today! I hate just having these sitting around & not on my car!
Got my Redline shifter boot on yesterday, and I can't really decide if I like it; I think I didn't order it short enough... pics soon.
Finally, getting my Outlaw Engineering thermoblock intake spacers today Projected 3-5% HP bump for my lil' 1.6

After today, the only planned mod I have left is the 626 lip & then I'll start thinkin' about a header & a new paint job!

Post your car up, its sweeeet! I love the progress your doing on the E. I say keep the GA in there. Maybe some boost down the road if N/A doesn't cut it.

w00h00!! Swaybars are finally in! Spent all day trying to get these things on! I ended up having to re-tap all 10 nuts for the new bolts to go in smoothly since my E didn't come with any swaybars so the threads had gotten a nice coat of rust. But the part that took me the longest was trying to get the friggen front swaybar up & over my exhaust since I couldn't unbolt it from the cat. I never wanna have to mess with that again!
A quick lap around the WSU parking lot told me that my lil' E is quite a bit more planted around corners, but as always, tomorrow's autoX will show me just how much of a difference these'll make. I'm so excited

And I was wrong, my thermoblock spacers weren't what came in the mail today, it was my 626 lip! Didn't get that put on, though, b/c I think I need to get a 93-94 front bumper for it to fit better. (No, I'm not going to get that bumper just to put this lip on it. I've been thinking about getting one ever since I learned that there was a difference between the two... which was about a couple weeks ago )

pyrocrickett, I believe the 626 lip is meant for the earlier '91-'92 bumper.... If I'm wrong, someone will chime in to let me know...

Slap that bad boy on and see what it looks like..

A lot of people seem to forget that swapping in another motor takes a bunch of money too. Why spend the same amount of $$ for the same amount of power but with more hassle of swapping everything? Two different tracks of logic I guess. I won't disagree that a N/A GA can not match a N/A SR though.
