B-14 project

This is my slightly modified b-14 GXE-L..soon to be SR20DE or QR25DE swap.. first doing all the body modifications then I will be getting rid of the GA16DE (even thought it runs perfectly just too slow) Mods still left on the table are split hood...lambo doors....flip flop trunk conversion...a suttle rear spoiler....and new modified fenders. Also I will be painting the car in a two tone setup. Onyx black with some color changing flake int it on the bottom and a Blood red color with the same flake in it as well. It will change colors at the body line on the doors. Let me know what you think.

Well here are the pics.

do not do quoted mods
Clean it up. Put exterior back to stock or a subtle kit.
(stillen lip, 98 grill, GTR kit.whatever)
Then swap it. Stick with the SR20. My friend has a QR25 in his B14 and it was a HUGE pain in the ass to do.

Eat a lil bit of Uncle Bens lately?

This forum is performance oriented. You, sir, I hope have a flame suit handy.

Did you not read that I am in the process of picking which engine to swap into it so that I can get more performance out of this car. I will also be looking into making the car awd with the GTIR drive train. Just because you dont agree with my exterior mods doesnt mean that you should automatically dismiss it as rice. Should be a little more open minded and realize that not everyone thinks like you.

But as usual opinions are like azzholes every one has one and they all stink.

right. My car is really a transformer while were at it.
BTW- the exterior mods are ricey. The car minus the kit still looks clean. I think it could be salvaged.
I do like the color though.

Also like to warn you not to get pissy on this forum. Do a search on Nissandrifter82.

Rice plus go fast parts is still quick rice. Just because it gets a SR or QR doesnt mean its fast however. Dont act like you own the street because of a motorswap, you'll be put to shame really quickly.

Let us know how the AWD conversion goes. LOL.

Ok.... i think I was being a little harsh and an asshole. Your paint is pretty clean, get rid of those traillights, throw on some 99 SeL tails if you want something other tahn stock.

Then get rid of the whole body kit, and throw on a front lip on the bumper. Get some nice 15 or 16" rims, bronze, silver, blackw/ silver lip, black rims something like that. Anything but rims that look like they were bought from pepboys.

If you truly like the way your car is, then I suggest posting on www.nissanforums.com to get the feedback your looking for.

Hey mang

First of all
Let it sweat like some nuts, most people on this forum are performance oriented. I remember you from ohionissans . Show before go generally gets the thumbs down around here. Just remember, if you like what you have done with your ride, thats all that matters... but you have to accept that not everyone will dig it, especially on a performance oriented forum. The opinions will be biased.

Its good that you are doing things differently, but you have to expect the comments good or bad. Not everyone will like it, but, regardless - do you.

My personal opinion:
I personally love that color... seriously, but am not too fond of the body kit - its too extreme. I don't like the 99 style grill w/ those lights... it throws the fascia off bigtime with the halos. I suggest you either change the grill to a 95-97 style (possibly customize it since you like being different), or change your lights back to 99 style (customize them as well). BTW, if you need a 95-97 grill I got you covered. The rear is alright. The rims are okay.

Check out these threads if you have love for the 98 SE-R/99 Sentra type fascia. If you like customization, you actually have more options than you think... and they are fairly cheap routes...

General Front and Rear Lamp Changes
http://www.sr20forum.com/technical-information-library/158684-how-jdm-style-stealth-corners-headlamps-more.html

Our cars have won awards for their subtle and simple styling from online opinion sites and magazines... Small changes make a difference, but when I do things I like to work w/ the OEM style and branch off of it because of that.

I don't know, you could save more money on performance mods that way, you know?

My $0.02

Happy Motoring,

True, lol. I would NOT get pissed and all mad about the comments. You will be added to the infinite list of newbs that were banned. Don't let the comments bother you if YOU like the car. Everyone has their own taste. On this forum, almost everyone loves a simple lip or not too outrageous bumper on their car. Something that lets you pass a cop and not get stopped or park somewhere in an alley and not worry about someone stealing the car because it looks almost stock. Do it up the way you like, these guys are just trying to show you the light. If you plan on keeping the kit then get it painted soon, looks even worse being a different color which makes you look like a all out ricer. Sorry bud, thats just the way it is.

I have to agree with all of the comments given above.

Before I say anything, big props to Tokes for his beautifully formatted post and helpful advice.

This is indeed a performance oriented forum, and your car doesn't really fit in that well.

You really need to get rid of that body kit, and 17''s, and tezzas. I love the color of your car and I think some 15''s would look great on it, and maybe a lip on it.

From my experience, people who want to go "all show" then "all go"....never pull through. You will probably wasted all of your time and funds trying to make it look like something you want.

If you keep going down this path...I'm 99.9% sure you won't pull through with that motor swap.

-The Kid from Korea
