New daily driver 98 SE-R

I found this low-mile one owner on yahoo the other night. It was in Salem, and I was going there anyway so I had a look. I bit and here it is;

The paint needs some love, the bolster on the seat is caved in and the sun visor is basically burnt off from being in the desert. Other than that it is exactly like my old one. I even caught a wiff or two of 'new car smell'.
cheers ~b

Its got 74k. The carfax has only one owner who was fat enough to cave in the bolster on the seat. I'm gonna swap the seat cushions soon.

I'll say I paid retail and leave it at that. Below bluebook, but retail. I know thats a sin on this forum, but you can't find nice 200sx's in the NW. Can't find them. When you do they are fukt or automatic or both. Eggs are the same way. The half life of a cl ad for an egg is 6-8 hours.

It was the first day they had it. I thought it was an old ad and it turned out it was brand new. They backed it off the truck, washed it and thats it. The mechanic hadn't even seen it. He also knew what it is "the Sentra with infiniti drivetrain". Its a bad position to negotiate from but I could not exactly come back later with fake mustache and glasses.

Anyway first I'm doing some tuning, and then its getting a detail. No mods no plans. Just gond drive it and race the Sentra. 16VE cams and fuji due on Tuesday.

4700 is not terrible for 98. I got mine for 4300 in '05 w/ 72k, and it was pretty mint. Start with an easel and make a masterpiece ***. Hands down it is a great (and very comfy & safe) daily... period.

Having driven both now... Its not as raw as a b13, but you can make up for it with a 91 cam, and a rear sway... , LSD can be added if you feel like it, but doesn't really matter since your not road racing it.

Congrats by the way

Thanks everyone. The reason for this car is the utter rawness of the B13. Its too much sometimes, and has no options.

Today I masked off and sprayed a few spots under the battery tray, and the scuffs on the bottom of the bumper just to make it less visible. While I was in there I pulled the resonator box too. I always do that first thing on SE-Rs.

Next is a mild tune up and a thorough detail. I may just pay to have the detail done. More pics after that.

oh in case you're wondering I pulled the stupid coyotes plate off.

Hats off to you Ben for a nice find. The black is what I was wanted so I hate you for that, and you found one with less miles. Cheers.
I'm parting with the evergreen state as well and setting residence in Northern California. Long story short, I can no longer endure the rain so I'm going to search for that life thats like that of the TV hit show, The O.C...but i'm broke, so thats not possible.
Anyways, I'm driving down through oregon the 9th or 10th of march. Me and few buddies are taking the b14 on a little road trip. We should try and meet up then or on the return trip back up.
Adios

Chris

Also wondering what you all think of swapping rims

I'm mainly wondering because the B14 has some expensive BFG tires that will be going on the B13 to help my 60' times anyway. The flik blast-c just look f-ing cheap to me and don't do any justice to the majesty of the new SE-R.
