What he said...

Bob's MX's turned pretty greasy today on the Evo... it was the first track day we've done with temps in the mid 70's. He still stated a few times today that he prefered the MX's over the Azenis.

WE also switched cars for a session and he was amazed on how well the 240 handled in the corners... of course he made the comment about having plenty of time to look at the scenery on the straights

I don't park on any hills

I'll start looking for a Z32 parking brake assembly later this year. Currently all the funds are going towards getting the car turboed right now

What he needs is a set of RA-1's or Nitto NT-01's, then he would not have that problem.

Also check out the Hankook R compounds. I picked up a brand new set of their medium compound Z211's (designed to compete with the hoosier's) and man am I happy with them. I had a set of A series Hoosier's on before and the Hankook's are SO much better at the limit! They are also just as wide as the Hoosier's, meaning the 225's are closer to 245's

Bob's lazy and doesn't want to change tires... that was the excuse for running MX's and Azenis over the past 2 years. After yesterday he did realize that he would probably need to go to one of these two tires... and I think he's going for the NT-01's since they won't need to be shaved and probably withstand the 90+ days were going to see from July through October.

Did I mention that I took the Evo 8 for a 15 minute session on the track . All I have to say is . The car did push a bit more than I thought it would and the boost hits so DAMN hard that it upset my lines alot on corner exit. I'm sure that if I drove it for a day I could of had it going pretty fast. The funny thing is that Bob stayed out in my car for almost 30 minutes... I was about to head back out and drag him back to the pits

You forget to mention that the Z211's have also been on clearance since last year. I've pointed my friends this way a few times and so far none have bit. Most of them (friends) are wanting a tire that is also street/hwy friendly.

I found a new seat that fits my 190lb frame better than the Blue Evo that I'ved used in the sentra. Old blue went to a new home this last weekend to make room for these guys .

The seats also came with 2 sets of aluminum side mounts...

mounts that use the stock mounting points that can also drop me down as far as possible is in the works. I'm hoping to have these in before the next track day in July along with a harness bar.

Witt, I'm having one custom made... I'll see if my guy wants to build more than he has plans for.

Not much new these past few weeks. I did pick up a PWR intercooler from Jackson Diamond on the forum sometime back... just got around to taking a shot of it.

A little larger than I wanted, but being a PWR core and a tube/fine design I couldn't pass on it.

I'll have more updates shortly... seat mounts are currently being built and I'm finally getting around to getting the gauges mounted.

It'll be back to screaming down the straights in no time...only with quicker exit speeds this time around.

Started to strip the rear of the car today. I want to get the sound deadening removed asap and preperations done for the new seats mounts and harness bar that will be here soon.

I weighed the car sometime back, so I made sure to weigh everything that came out of the car to give myself a good idea of the weight of the car as I progress. All weights were taken on a digital scale.

2690lbs -- Car's starting weight

Removed
9lbs -- Car Seat
27.5lbs -- Spare Tire
5.5 lbs -- Jack
3.5lbs -- Spare Tire Cover
17.5lbs -- Rear Seatback with trunk cover
7.5lbs -- Rear Seat lower section
7lbs -- Rear Side Panels and B-panels
5lbs -- Rear Seatbelt assembly and misc

82.5lbs Total Removed

2607.5lbs Est. Car weight, and I still have AC and sound deadening to remove... that should help shave another 60+ lbs

Pictures of the rear as of now. I'm not sure how much will go back, guess I'll know after driving it tomorrow.

Yes, he was more than happy to sell it to me

I got alittle bored last night and tore into the motor and got the VC off along with the piston #1 at TDC and the S13 distributor aligned like it should be for disassembly. I've done more than my fair share of cam swaps and the biggest issue with the S13 SR20DE that I see will be getting the distributor back in without being off a tooth... how I miss the B13's distributor setup already.

The AC will also be coming out at the same time along with the addition of the CS water neck adapter for my water temp sensor .

Just to show you what I'm talking about on the S13 SR20... taken from the S14 FSM, but essentially the same thing.

What's the benefit of the tube/fin design over the bar/plate?

Less weight & more airflow can pass through it
