Looks really good! Not an easy mounting solution though.... That lip is not large enough to rivet or screw through is it?
The mount failed the 2nd session into the track day this last Friday... as I was kind of guessing it would. I finally got a somewhat bright idea of a fix and it worked. I wanted to be able to get back behind the gauges if needed, so silicone was out of the question for now. Also, I couldn't see how I was going to be able to rivet the gauge panel into the dash, nor did I really want to do that.
I ended up using safety wire to loop around the back of the center gauge, the part that is used to secure the gauge to the panel, and pulled the wire down behind the stereo and looped it around a brace. This keeps enough pressure against the gauge panel that it doesn't move and I have easy access to it once I pull the stereo and undue the safety wire from under the dash .

Thanks... still have alot to get done to the car this year. Finding spare time to work on the car has been an issue lately it seems . I'm thinking while the wife is off on a 1 week work trip that I should get some work done then
The car is running with a T28 now... at a solid 7psi currently. I'll try to get some updated pictures in the next few days, all the one's that I currently have were from during the install.
So what was added in the last few weeks.
B13 JWT ECU programmed for the Z32 MAF, 50lb MSD injectors, and 9.5:1CR
Z32 MAF with JWT pop filter
MSD 50lb injectors and FTF fuel rail
S14 T28 ballbearing turbo
S13 turbo manifold/headshield
Ebay special 02 housing
Ebay 3" downpipe
Ebay piping kit
PWR intercooler
Bosch BOV
CS oil distribution block
Serban oil feed kit
Walbro fuel pump
What the car looked like sometime last week... will update soon.
So, after the turbo install, here is the new estimate on weight...
Removed...
Stock manifold --- 13lbs
Stock DP and cat - 18lbs
Misc EGR parts ---- 3lbs
Bumper Support - 22lbs
TOTAL -------------- 56lbs
Added...
T28 & manifold ---- 28lbs
PWR IC ------------- 21lbs
Piping --------------- 4lbs
DP/catless pipe --- 11lbs
TOTAL --------------- 64lbs
New est. weight after turbo install is 2576.5lbs... so from my numbers I only added 9lbs during the install, not to bad.
Been following your project for a while now Monty and i must say it turned out awesome! How do you like that T28? I have one on my car as well, S15 though, and it pulls pretty good up top for a .64 housing. Just my wastegate is busted, feels like there is no diaphram in there at all you can blow air in it and just rushes right through, and the damn thing runs 20psi.

Thanks, it's not done yet though... you should see all the parts still in the garage that need to get on this car... and I still have a few other things that I haven't let out of the bag yet

Agreed, the S14/S15 T28 is pretty nice... with the S3 cams, the car has some descent power in the upper RPM's. I can't wait to turn the boost up to 12psi, as soon as I get a MBC, to see how this turbo compares to the GTiR T28 that I ran on the Sentra

Shouldn't be hard to find someone on the 240 forums that have upgraded there's to the HKS wastegate. Mine seems to be working fine... everything held up fine to 15psi, even the bov, when pressure testing the IC piping this last weekend.
dmp316 - as soon as I get in a complete track day with no failures and am faster than I was with the sentra, then I'll know that it's paid off...
Yeah i looked for a used wastegate, but i went all out and got a SR20Turbofreak manifold for it and a external gate! Should pull nicley with the S3s aswell
20psi is nice though

Just finished installing the B14 belts on the drivers side, I'll get the passanger side tomorrow night . Oh yeah, I love these so much better than the auto-crap belts that the 240 comes with...
The one mod that needed to happen for this to work, drilled a hole large enough for the tab to fit in.
Reused the hardware from the rear seatbelts on the 240. I'll add the B-pillar plastic piece once I have a harness bar built and the seats figured out.
The lower mount for the belt goes right where part of the auto lap belt was previously located. I did cut the carpet so the belt can go through.
And what it looks like installed... much better if you ask me . Of course the car does still look alittle bare
There is a 7lbs weight difference between the B14 belt and the S13 auto belt... so chalk another 14lbs off the car
So is there a new DD being added to the stable? BTW the 240 is very inspiring. I'm not ready to let go of this platform though.
I might try to add a small truck to the stable this fall or maybe just wait till next year once the Outback is payed off. I wasn't ready to switch either... of course Steve's 240 being offered to me was to much for me to pass
