I was on my way to Bishop motorsports to check out the Greg's NX and Claums tunning... when my engine finally decided to call it quits. Here are some pictures of the aftermath:

It caught me by surprise... I was cruising along at 30mph at 1/4 throttle when it happened. Next thing I know, the motor had puked its guts out of the front and back of the block. I did an autopsy and I believe the motor had two bent rods from an unrelated hydro-lock incident which happened years ago. I think this put a side load on the wrist pin and caused a fatigue failure on the piston skirt. The motor had about 205K on the ticker, 30k of which were turbo charged. I still think the 1.6L is a tough little motor.

Wow... that's a harsh past.

Well don't feel so bad... Your not the only person this weekend that lost a loved one. Buddy Donald lost his ga beater this weekend also. Sad April fools huh?
