Here are some pics of my 626 lip. It was an old, used beat up one. I sanded it down, filled in the remaining scratches with body filler, sanded again. I then got out the old rattle can and sprayed on 4 layers of paint over three days. Let it sit out in the hot sun for a day and sprayed on 2 coats of clear acrylic.
Yes, I was too lazy to fill the “gap” in the middle.... One day I’ll get to it.
I think it looks great with my ’93 Bumper! Really makes the car look low in the front.
Incase your wondering why I painted it gray, I wanted it to match the lower rockers and mud flaps on my car. The lip is just a shade lighter though .

Car and Driver predicted the future accurately when they wrote that "poems will be written about this engine [and] ballads will be sung." <talking about the FWD sr20.
my first lip was similiar, so much paint and wet sanding and clear coat that it basically looked like a fiberglass piece. then it hit the pavement coming out of a lot and cracked the paint to sh*t. you should be more then fine with 3 coats, i have 2 coats on my new lip and have nicked a few things but no paint cracks.
