Well it's been a long time since I've posted pics and such on this forum, but this is what my 240SX fastback looks like currently in my garage: This weekend it'll be bare chassis up on a stand, ready for a nice acid dip.

I'm getting it dipped in a giant vat of acid to take absolutely everything down to bare metal. after that they dip it in a rust protectant.

You have to take pics of that process. I sure would like to see how people do those kinds of things. Good luck with the project and keep us posted.

It's actually a pretty cool process. I've seen it done on airframes (rotary aircraft), a few times. It wasn't as bubbly as I thought it was going to be, though (Roger Rabbit came to mind when I first though "acid dip")

It's amazing how clean the bare metal comes out looking. Just bling blingy. Then the coatings for rust prevention dulls it up a bit, depending on the agents used in the chemical bath.

Take pics!

The part I'm most worried about, drivers side back bumper-to-frame bracket:

removed the steering wheel finally too:

Looks like everyone is putting a lot of work into their cars lately. Looks like your making great progress. I can't imagine how much time and money this costs.

mhm, she's getting acid dipped as soon as I can get the rest of the suspension off and save the money. I have a whole lot more time than money right now anyway. Tubbing the fenders and getting a full cage as well....then I'll have to save for paint...

Wow def keep us updated on this project. Are you keeping a spreadsheet with all the costs involved? That would be very interesting along with a detialed picture diary of the teardow, resto, and buildup.
