Well since my 200 is sitting in the garage with the engine out right now, and since i gave it a good wash today i figured i would snap some pics of my new work truck. We just re-bid on routes and i ended up with this one. I don't think the last 2 people ever washed it. I know Sr20p10 is gonna chime in and call it a POS...but atleast it rides good
Money shots...

nice guy....i rode a volvo tri axle dump for a season.....that thing was sweet. nicest rig i have driven yet. between the internationals, mack, kenworth, ford, and freightliners.....i like the volvo the best. i have yet to drive a pete though.
ford and volvo have been in bed since the late 90s i think. once volvos started producing front wheel drive cars.
sweet volvo by the way. they make reliable cars, im sure their rigs are the same.
well, this ford i used to drive we called the model T. it was a piece. it was before ford and volvo were a team!
and about volvo being reliable....i do know one thing about volvo. i changed oil for work for 2 years. every volvo (unless brand new) that came in leaked or burned oil, if not both. in the least every one that came in was low on oil. within being 2-3 year old volvos, they were low on oil. again, unless they were brand new were they good!
they are sweet cars though. i would consider buying one someday if not for the oil issue.
i like it, but i wouldn't buy one. i've only driven an international and a volvo, so i odn't know how all the rest of the makes stand up, but volvo's seem to be a little unreliable. the good part about them however, is they are predictable as to when they will break down usually.
Looks wierd my bug screen thats over the radiator slipped off, gotta fix it...
Now thats a dashboard!.....
Money shots......
truck is a Peterbilt 379 extended hood, under hood is the big dog 3406E 15.8 liter 600hp and 2050ft-lbs torque, the boost and fuel pressure sensors are bypassed, running a pitsburgh power computer, last time on the dyno it maxxed out a 1000hp dyno, power is channeled through a 18 speed double overdrive spinning 3.55 gears it has 1,256,000 miles, untouched.
SR20DETP10 does not hate on trucks, im just not a fan of volvo, looking at your under hood shots and thinking about wrenching on it makes my head hurt. On my pete i can unbolt the trans by oprning the hood. Didnt mean to jack your thread just showin some pics i see your run local im what you hear on the CB a "chicken hauler" which is basically a person who runs the west coast and hauls produce back, and does it "fast". I just picked up a new spread axle trailer ill take pics when i get back. You can usually spot this truck running I44 through MO and OK then I40 across OK, TX, NM then I25 NM then I10 NM, AZ, it represents the SR20FORUM on the back of the trailer.
EDIT: Dashboard pic is out of red pete next to mine, my dads truck, mine is the same other than 4 more guages, didnt have any of mine.

nice rig!!!
They are comfortable and turn very well, but it ends there. Pete and KW's own the road, which is basically the same company, PACCAR. But between KW and Pete you have to pay about 5k more just for that little red oval on the Pete, worth every penny as far as im conecerned, ive driven everything out there and own Peterbilts, i can go in the sleeper make me a sandwich come out a minute later and that basterd is still moving straight freakin tanks.

Never had it on a rack, Pete's just ride like that, long wheelbase set forward axle makes for great highway crusin. But sucks at tight docks but ive dont this long enough to know what im doing.
ah i was just referring to your first comment about my avatar. from what everyone has told me, pete's are the best. i think volvo just hasn't figured it out since they switched to making their own engines and components. i run the road for my company, but if we have to layover they pay for a hotel room. for the last few months i only run north and south carolina and georgia....mainly on i-85. nice looking ride man...i wonder what your rig would have done if the rollers had not maxed out. maybe we should start another thread where everyone shows their work vehicles.
I was just kidding about the avator back then, but yeah Petes are great for over the road runs but not great in citys where you have to turn. Sometimes there is no way you can get in a dock with one shot u have to do a few pull ups.
Thing about volvo is there is to many electronics in that truck and most of the stuff is designed like cars, their trucks do ok in europe where people log roughly 50k miles a year tops. But out here where you run non stop like me sometimes logging 1300 miles a day (yes i know you cant log it legally but you gotta do what you gotta do) and put down 150k milea a year in our harsh enviroments they just do not last. You can put a Cummins ISX in a volvo but thats just another nightmare, all the new 07 engines coming out are crap, if i ever buy another truck it will be a glider with no motor or trans and rebuild my old motor and stick it in there. Believe it or not my truck is 9 years old and it doesent have one squeek or rattle coming from anywhere so i dont think ill buy a new one anytime soon.
Thanks for the compliment, friend at CAT said he guesstimates close to 1300whp with the boost anf fuel psi i was running and around 3200ft-lbs torque
