my 97 180sx type-x

thought i'd post up some pics of my type-x had it for about 6 months.. it's got lowered suspension but looks really high in these pics coz these wheels were taken straight off my mate's skyline so the tyres are completely wrong size, it'll sit heaps lower when i get some nice low profiles on it, but still looks ok right now.. it's got a few mods, turbo-back exhaust and a jap spec s15 bb28 turbz are the two big ones, i've got all the suppporting mods except a front mount, but as soon as i get that i'll be crankin up the boost, still goes pretty hard atm but, its on about 10psi and probably is pushin out about 170 rear wheel kw's, with high boost setting i should be getting atleast 200.. anyway here she is

Looks more stealthier, and that's how some of them came in the U.S. if I'm not mistaken

The 180SX came with the CA18DET at first '89-'90 and then the SR20DET from '91+. They didn't change the name since people already knew 180SX.

ca18det from 89-91, sr20det redtop from 91-94, sr20det blacktop 94-98.. 96,97 & 98 models are the type-x's.. they have that body kit stock standard (with a big spoiler which i removed), the new interior, new rear end lights (they look skyline style at night) and come standard with abs and airbag and some other saftey sh*t.. they couldnt change the name to 200sx when they started wacking sr20's in there coz in asia/australia we already had the s14 200sx which also had the sr20det, only difference is that 180's have a smaller 25g turbo stock where the s14's and s15's have t28s, but despite this the 180sx has an extra 10 or so killowatts due to a more aggressive tune from factory, plus it's lighter than a 200, plus it revs out to 7500 where s14's redline at 7000, and s15's at 7200

ok that's enough ranting from me, this clears everything up but coz so many people seem to get it wrong

it's an xforce straight through muffler, got a 3inch inlet and 5 inch outlet (2 1/2 each pipe) but sounds heaps deeper and nicer than a big cannon muffler coz of an extra resonator, still flows hard but
