Progress on the NX

I decided to take the time and really dig into the wiring harness on these vehicles. This is a 93 and I noticed exactly what makes the harnesses different on them. They route the electric speedo through the engine harness as a jumper that goes to the passenger side and then through the harness back over to the driver side then back into the cab. Now, if you pull that jumper out and pull the wiring out all the way, you can simply cut and solder the connector on and have the speedo right there with the other trans plugs!!!! Guys, this means you can then use any year SR20 harness in your cars with electric speedo.

Anyway, cleaned up the wiring harnesses and then cleaned up the engine bay. I cleaned up the grime and the ONE spot of surface rust I found then primed/painted the bay. I hope it holds up as this is the first engine bay I have really taken any time on. It isn't perfect, but I don't have time for perfect.

Thanks, motor is in now and 3 of the 4 mounts are all hooked up. I just need to get the rear mount tightened down and the IC dropped in.

There it is! But, looks like it may have to come back out. THe bottom most bolt on the rear trans mount stripped! I had 4 of the 5 in, then got to that one and it was tightening just fine, got to the end to torque it and it spun! DAMN IT!

there are no threads on the mounts bro! It is the trans bell housing. Lowest bolt! I had them all perfect man cause I pulled the hoist out of the way, then bam! Sucks!

So, I will need some extra hands pulling the trans, swapping bell housings and putting it back in!!!!!

I will be in the garage from 5:00 on tonight and Wed. night. If the car isn't running well I will be renting a car for convention and leaving Thursday night after work. If the car is running well, I will likely tow it to convention, but it isn't looking good. Just trying to do to much I think in such a short time.
