I just ordered a lightweight battery for my car...an odyssey pc680. I'm trying to figure out where to mount the damn thing. So post up pics of where you put your lightweight battery!!
i like that...your battery is 7" in length, mine is 7.27"...using the same type of mount...do you think it'll fit there, doesn't look like too much extra room
The passenger side area is mroe useful than the driver side actually. I was originally going to put mine there, however the sheet metal is not quite as flat and I also wanted to keep my cold air setup...
I would recommend the 680 at a minimum for a daily driver, even then if I had a large audio system or tons of accessories that I ran at ALL when the car was off I would not use a battery this small.
An old pic from when the GA was still in there. I modified the stock battery tray and used a lawnmower tie-down. That is also a Hawker battery i got in the group buy a few years ago in the pic. Since then I had to replace it with an Odyssey b/c i over charged the Hawker...I don't remember what model i have though.

katana, did you run into any problems with the battery getting wet from driving with water coming in? does it even matter? i know the battery usually gets wet anyway, but more so because you had it oriented such that the terminals were facing forwards.

Did you see where mine is? It is in the fender and is exposed to the elements. I have autocrossed in the rain and been caught in the rain on track days with no issues...
Granted I may nto run this setup on a street that is driven in any kind of standing water...

it's never been wet that i know of. even back then i did not drive my car but on the weekends most of the time.
Using the PC680 battery, with the hold down for it. I managed use 2 holes that come drilled in the hold down, and found one on top of the tranny mount bracket, and one right behind the headlight, its real sturdy.
Don't mind that bracket holding the other end of the relay box, I'll make something nicer
