Ok, so I've been wanting back in the SR20 game fo a while...
A long long time ago, my sickness began with a grey '93 SE-R. I didn't really mod it at all before selling it to a friend and purchasing a black '91 which I proceeded to boost into the stratosphere... After selling that car due to rendering it almost undriveable day-to-day (straight-cut gears, big T3/T4 etc. etc.), I bought a sensible Subaru Forester... And turned it into a Corvette-killing monster (I'm currently gearing up to retune the modified 20G setup with alcohol injection...).
On a whim, last year I purchased a white 200SX SE-R from my friend George Perinis. I never really liked the B14s, but this one was pretty fun, and before I knew it the SR20 bug had bitten me once again. I sold the 200SX in short order and made plans to buy back that very first grey '93 SE-R from my friend. Blinded by delusions of grandeur, I bought back the car for $200 and towed it back down here from CT with the help of George. We stopped by Chriscar's house on the way to pick up a VE, and Chris tried to sway me from dumping money into it - For you see, in the interim while my friend owned the car, it became very dirty, rusty, and stinky - mold was rampant in the interior (for pics of this car, see my sig).
I finally came to my senses and decided that the grey car was dead end... So I began looking for NX2000s since I had always wanted one. Until I stumbled on this:
So I took a gamble on an Ebay auction for a '92 Ruby Red Pearl NX2000 and won it!
The quantity of pictures on the page were confidence inspiring, but I still had doubts as the car was being sold 'as-is' and I was required to purchase it regardless once I won the auction...
To make a long story short, the gamble paid off...
Yes, the hatch struts work great and there are no leaks in the trunk. The little plastic hinges for the privacy panel are broken though, of course.
There's absolutely NO RUST on this car... anywhere!
It came with everything: mint T-Top panels, the leatherette bags for the T-Tops, an FSM, the original manuals etc., a roadside emergency kit, etc. etc... Even a sunshade; though the dash is already riddled with splits
After one car wash and some driving in the rain, I haven't been dripped on or found any leaks!
A nice clean engine bay! So different from the salt encrusted east coast cars I'm used to (she spent most of her life in Nevada).
Everything works on this car, even the AC (though the auction claimed it was not). And I cruised it home from Philly in 5th with no pop-out.
I couldn't be happier with the purchase, and I have big plans for this little car. Being my 3rd SR20 powered car (not counting that 200SX SE-R I only owned for about 3 months...), I definitely have a plan of action for this little beast - I think she'll stay NA though, since I already have the one turbo monster:

Nice score Marco! BTW if you ever come up here to visit George give me a heads up, I *really* want to see the XT in person. BTW the injectors have been in my SE-R for a few months now and they are working great

wow you found a gem for a hell of a steal and it wasnt to far from me, im jealious!!
oh and btw, i seen pix of your forester on i think subaruforester.org or one of the other boards when you did the 06-07 front end conversion and was curious, how did you use that sti scoop on the 06-07 hood? i ordered my brother one for his 07 sports *** of your car and the openings were way off. so he got the older sti scoop i believe. sorry for the off-topic, but was very curious and didnt wanna ask on the suby boards *** im still a noob over there.
Thanks guys! I couldn't be happier with the car - I can't wait to start getting her in shape.
Chris, I'm glad I heeded your advice about the grey car. You and George were so right and I'm glad I finally came to my senses. Plus, NXs are so much more fun!
Matt, I'm glad those injectors worked out and I will definitely let you know the next time I come out there - One of George's buddies with a hopped-up Charger SRT-8 want a piece of the Subaru...
Ricer_X_01, I wouldn't worry about being a noob on sf.org, we're very forgiving over there... The scoop is actually a fiberglass piece by MRT in Australia. It's an '04 STi-style scoop made to fit the earlier hoods. You can find inexpensive copies on Ebay.
This car was posted in the classifieds with a link to the ebay auction and no one was jumpin'???
Marco and I were on the phone the night he was bidding. I don't think but a few people were even interested which was wierd. Anyways but for the fact that I have banned red cars I would have not talked Marco into it and grabbed it myself. But I am glad he did. Now, I gotta find another Sr20.
Now...get that rust heap outta my driveway!!!

Thanks Chris it looks like you and Greg will be forcing me to get dirty on an install if he does ...but I think he's staying NA.
Hehe, yeah, don't worry just yet; while Chris decided to be thoroughly evil and send a link to a deliciously priced DET, Greg just wanted to help me out with cosmetic issues.
Order for the SSAC header has been placed, so for now no hairdryer on the NX.
