Hello, my name is Miguel and I own a 1998 200SX SE, which i named Nikki. I am a 20 year old college student and work full time 8am-5pm then school 6pm-9pm (different class each day of the week, Monday - Thursday) and live at home with my parents so i pocket most of what i earn. Nikki came to me in pristine condition, however on April 5th, 2006 a woman in a mini-van ended that look. So you know, here's a pic of Nikki the day she was delivered to me, January 11th, 2006 (my 19th Birthday):
After that, i went through a ricer stage because of the friends I had and had the body kit on for a few days with the appointment ready at the shop to have it put on correctly and what not, however i pulled her out after deciding i wanted to go with the JDM look. So after the accident and replacing those body parts now she looks like this:
Allow me to introduce you to Nikki's main specs:
Aztec Red
Stock B14 Wheels with stock hubcaps
5 Speed Manual
Just another basic, 200SX SE with a manual transmission. Now one thing you should know is that to get Nikki, I lied to my dad by telling him my friend had already taught me how to drive stick but the truth was i was learning when i got her, i had only driven stick once, a year prior to this, and only for about 10 mins. However, i got the idea down and managed to take my mom to her doctor's appt. with only 2 hrs to learn how to drive her. We've been through a lot and she's been pushed before, i have cleaned out the entire exhaust system and her exhaust sounds tuned even though, all she's got is a K&N OEM Replacement Filter. She means the world to me and now that i'm working, the progress will begin to her revival and path to join the other prestigious cars that grace this forum. I thank all of you for helping me by posting information, replying to me, showing off your ideas to all of us and for making me feel welcome here considering i'm running a GA16DE. This upcoming weekend I will be replacing her transmission since it has gone out. The i get paid weekly and make about $350 after taxes. The check i'm getting this friday is all going to my transmission and will be eating cup of noodles and other cheap snacks to get my car to where i want it to be by the January 11th, 2006 unveiling, which would mark two years of Nikki being in my life. Currently here's the only upgrades she has:
On November 3rd is the Fountain Valley Meet in CA and that would mark my first meet and the obviously, the first that Nikki attends. By that day I will have this done this to the car, btw I am a DIY kind of guy so you'll see me get in this car with plenty of pics and possibly helps to other B14 owners out there:
1) Oil & Oil Filter Change
2) Check my fluid leaks
3) Replace my front rotors and front brake pads
4) Buy & Install the SE-R wheels i'm buying from a forum member on either 10/26 or 11/02 (day before the meet! )
5) Ebay Front & Rear Strut Bars (Temporary)
6) Sand, Primer, Paint and Install my Driver's Side Fender since the one on is dented and creased
7) Try to clean up the engine bay (will post before & after pics)
8) Customize my exhaust shield
9) Wash, polish and wax her
10) Install my custom shift boot & e-brake boot!
I have decided on the next mods this car will receive and here they are, i will post pics as the car comes along in full detail and explaining each bump i ran into:
1) SE-R Wheels
2) Ebay Front & Rear Strut Bars
3) NGK Spark Plug Wires
4) K-Sport (Group Buy) Coil Overs
5) Custom CAI using the JWT POP Charger
I will begin today when i get home from school and will post pics as I go, I will get started on the fender since i have no money to do anything else until Friday, lol
Thanx for reading and stay tuned because honestly i don't know where this project will go in terms of either reaching the max on the GA motor or swapping in an SR20VE/SR20DE/SR20DET/SR16VE

Ok so last night when I came home from work, i removed my valve cover and attempted to remove the exhaust shield. I forgot to buy the 18mm socket i need to remove the O2 Sensor first, otherwise the damn thing won't come off...i tried, lol.
To my surprise the Valve Cover was simple to do, it didn't come right off but as i took each screw off in *** specified pattern i noticed that the sealant alone *** able to hold it in place, i had to break the seal with a putty knife as specified in the repair manual. after removing it, i was VERY SURPRISED to see that inside my engine, things were very clean, opposed to other pics i've seen where they have signs of grime or other dirty-ness like ***, u never know *** you'll find under there until u look, could be a condom *** cork pluggin an oil leak, lol u just never know, however, mine *** very clean, i mean i *** impressed. My car has 133,000 miles on it and i got the car with almost 96,500 miles on it. I took pics of it yesterday and will post pics of the inside of my engine later in the day when i get out of work. Today i will begin sanding the fender on the driver's side and remove the brake calipers so that I can clean them and paint them since I will be getting the SE-R Wheels on November 2nd from a fellow member. Well thanx for reading and stay tuned for the pics i'll post today of the inside of my engine.
thanks bro! what i did was cut more than enough of the leather jacket out then i matched up how much i'd need to cover the shift boot the way i wanted it and then i just sewed up the seams myself then put in on. the only tough part was attaching the leather boot to the shift plate. what i did was tuck it in the plate. strange but it worked!!!
it feels so much better when cycling thru the gears now too, 'cause rubber boot is pretty restrictive as we all know. I'll drive her this weekend and let you know more. I have some leather left over that i'm gonna use for my Parking Brake
stay tuned guys, i'll be primering my VC tonite and showing pics before the primer, after the primer, after the paint then after the clear coat so you guys all see how it all comes together. Idk if i'm good with a spray can but i'll do my best. If you want to do your Valve Cover check out this how-to made my Tokes!!! great directions and his came out great and yours can too if you follow the directinos. Here's the thread:
for those waiting for engine pics, i will post them tonight at 9:30PM (PST) and they'll be pics of my valve cover how it is right now in its OEM state, the inside of the GA, and begin a thorough How-To for the shift boot, in case anyone wants to take a crack at it. The How-To will be in the Technical Information section along with the other how-to's. The how-to i will be posting will be for the parking brake, however, the same steps can be taken for the shift boot.
So this is my valve cover, i plan to clean it with some more simple green and then primer it today when i come back from school, i should be back by 9:30. here's pics of the valve cover before the primering. I'll post pics of the primer when it's dry, most likely in the morning.
i'm actually gonna paint the valve cover a nice metallic red and as for the lettering, i still haven't decided *** i'ma do. I think i'm going to go with a black and red theme

Reason: ideas changed
Can you with a GA VC? When I used to have my GA 200, it felt like it was some kind plastic...

Ok so i just finished prepping and laying down the first coat of primer on the Valve Cover.
First I put newspaper around all the areas that i didn't want painted like the spark plug holes, the tubing connections and the oil filler hole. here's pics of the finished prep work, after a good dose of Simple Green! (just following Tokes! thread and so far so good!!!)
After that i laid down the first coat of primer 10-12 inches away very slowly, took me about 15 mins to do it and so far the first coat looks nice!
In a few minutes i'm gonna go lay down the 2nd coat, very lightly, followed by a heavier final coat. Then let it dry over night and tomorrow when i come from work, i'll paint her the special metallic red. stay tuned for more pics in about 30 mins people!!!
right now it's 9:30pm (PST). I laid down the second coat of primer at 8:45 so i'm gonna lay down the first coat of the metallic paint at 10:30-ish then wait until tomorrow when i get home from work and lay down the next two coats. Then saturday morning i'll do the two clear coats and wait till Sunday to install it back. The "Nikki" lettering on the engine should come out sweet!!! stay tuned guys! more pics coming later tonight, like 11:30-ish.
