She's almost done, just need to install a few more parts to get it running properly. This is the first time the car has been out of the garage in over two and a half months
What it looked like when I bought it:
What would pics be without a story?
Code Name: 'El Taco'
Weird name huh

The story:
A forum member posted a
link for the car on the SR20forum in Dec '06 as a beater for sale. I had just bought my house, and as great as it was, I was still missing my turbo B14 which I had sold for extra money during the home buying process.
RIP
So I read the
ad and needless to say I bought it from the guy for $95 and three tacos, he insisted on lunch before selling, thus the nickname: Project 'El Taco'. It had a blown clutch, bad rust, and the paint was burnt out and starting to peel all over.
The wiring in the engine bay was pretty bad, so I went ahead and completely stripped and re-wired most of that part of the car. The rust was cut out and new sheet metal welded in. The tranny was swapped for a P11 unit, and a DXD Race Clutch (best clutch
EVER!) and Fidanza flywheel installed. After a few days of driving it around to break the clutch in, it went back to my garage for round two.
I pieced together a turbo kit which includes a Protech non EQ tubular manifold, a Precision SC61, Nismo 740cc injectors, Z32 MAF and all the other necessary components to achieve a safe, reliable and fairly quick car. After a few weeks of chasing boost leaks from torn couplers, stuck injectors and everything else that could go wrong it finally came to life. From the garage it went to the body shop to get some love. I installed my Sunny front, side and rear pieces, had the shop fix the other dings and dents around the body and then sprayed it with a custom mix of Corvette Red Mica Rock and some Pearl (thanks again boommer

)
After it the car came back home it was time for the suspension, rims and tires. The suspension consists of Tein Super Street coilovers (Shout out to Jun

), and the rollers consist of 16 x 7.5 Kosei K1 race wheels and Kumho Ecstas tires, courtesy of chriscar
Big respect to TURBOSER1 (Paul) for all his help, and for kicking my ass to actually finish the car. For all the summer months, Sundays consisted of some sort of Trini food for dinner, Heinekens and grease.
