Project Sentra SER

I just started the project, i picked up this 95 Sentra GXE for $250. It has some rear end damage which i got pulled out for $150. It is a one owner, Alabama car with only 110k miles on it. Virtually rust free even on the under side. (which is weird to see in WI)
I worked on the 95 200sx SER for a while and then got into an accident. It was neglected by the previous owner so there was a lot of work to do.
This is what i did to the motor when it was in the 200sx. SSAC header, Injen CAI, Nismo Thermostat, Nismo FPR, High Port Intake Cam, Under Drive Crank and WP Pulleys, Prothane Motor Mounts, JWT Flywheel, Exedy Stage 1 Clutch, and Removed AC. I also got New Axles, New Timing Chain Tensioner, New Front Wheel Bearings, New Axle Seals, Front Crank Seal, New Clutch Cable, New Cap and Rotor, and New Plugs and Wires.

Here is the Sentra receiving the swap and upgrades.

The donor.

Under the hood of the Sentra.

Removed Dash in Sentra. With help from the dog.

Interior of 200sx.

Removed Radiator, All of the AC, Battery, Most of the Harness, and Air Box.

Got all of this done during the weekend. I will work a little at it this week and get the GA pulled this weekend. Then i will work on swapping harnesses, peddles, and prepping for the SR20.

I will update as i get things done.

That should be awesome. Drilling the holes for the clutch pedal SUCKS! everything else should be just a swap over.

The one issue i have seen so far is the dash harness since the cluster pin outs are different. I cant use the one out of the 200sx since it is only 2 door and does not have the extra window controls. I might use the one out of the 200sx and run wires for the windows since there are extra wires from the ECU on the SER harness. I am not quite to that point yet so i have some time to sift through the harnesses and figure it out. I plan on pulling the GA this weekend and start on prepping the engine bay and start to pull the SR.

I thought the GXE's came pre-drilled with holes for the Clutch pedal. I'm probably wrong but who knows.

Nope, i can see them. They are pre stamped so all i have to do is cut them out. With the dash and motor out it shouldnt be very hard.

If you mean Sally then yes it is or was. It had the N15 front end and his uncle painted it. I did a lot of work to the engine and other things to get the car almost back to a like new condition. The second day i had it out i rear ended a nice new Altima SER who rear ended some stupid guy in a Rav-4. Do you know Kyle then? PM me.

I got some more work done today.
Pulled the fender and found that the rust wasnt too bad yet, should be an easy fix.

Drivers side.

Front bumper off

Got the axles out and pulled the lower brace with the motor mount.

Pulled the exhaust.

Now its ready to come out, just need to get the cherry picker over and pull it out.

Hopefully i can get the motor out tomorrow and start cleaning the engine bay and prepping for the SR20.

That would be fun. I have been thinking about this project and i think i am just going to splurge and do the suspension as well. Since i plan on replacing the ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, i might as well just get it all done while the thing is apart. You guys been on MadisonSteetCars.net? check it out, they do lots of local meets and cruises. Lots of different cars and walks of life. I havent done anything with them yet but i plan on it when im done.

I finally got to work on the car again. Had a few things come up that took my time away, but i had a nice day today to work on it.
Here is the motor all hooked up:

Tranny on the ground:

Motor coming out:

Motor out:

Tranny out:

Empty engine bay, removed brake booster, engine harness, cruise control, and auto gear selector.

Dash wiring out, brake and gas pedals out, Heater core out, fire wall sound deadening out, and probably some other misc stuff:

I think im going to start pulling the SR now and getting other things swapped over. I am going to order a B&M short shifter and get the shift linkage swapped over, brake booster and MC. Im sure there are many other things in between there. I am still in no hurry and taking things as they come and getting all of the details hammer out before i go to the next step.

I thought taking it out from the top was super easy. Attach it to the hoist. lower it down, take the tranny out, then take the motor out. Otherwise you have to really jack the car up and drag the motor out the bottom.
I am going to post the parts i am taking out in another thread in a couple of days to get rid of them.
