Dont hate!!! Night shots dont suck!
This car would not have looked good from 3OOft away in a parking lot.
After the 50 dollar paintjob it looks like this...
I took some shots during the day so you can see all the "flaws" in the paint
I admit nightime hides a few flaws like the headlights or the running paint on the chin spoiler but im not finished yet. I havent touched that up yet because i am sick of looking at this car for the last 5 days! I need a break, a job to recharge my wallet, and some time to admire what it looks like now before i do anymore detailing. Also like i said, i need a REAL buffer. I dont think i would want a 3 stage paint job anyways there are some dings and wavy fenders as you can see in the first pic that would just stick out like a sore thumb. I have no intention of filling and block sanding this car.
It was more reflective before i wet sanded it knocking down some of the orange peel. I spent 5 days painting this car doing prepwork and putting on 6 layers of paint. The trick is thinning it with mineral spirits. It was easier taking the engine out of buckwilly's G20 this weekend. Thing is ive not been working for 3 weeks so i got more time than money. I would rather save my money for a VE then put a fancy paintjob on the car that is gonna get banged up at an HPDE or autocross. I wouldnt do this to a daily but for a track slut or winter beater its hard to beat for the money. I think the general rule of thumb is 5-10ft for a track car and so I am pleased with the results.
