The Daily "Re-Up" 93-94 Headlight Restoration - HOW TO PROJECT
Who says that the yellow/rusty HEADLIGHTS are un-repairable?
^Everything that came in the kit
^STEP #1 - This is the package that I bought from Advance Auto Parts that cost about $19 dollars. Read the directions first before you start or you can use this post as a guide, which I think will be helpful
^STEP #2 - First you want to get a bottle of some kind and fill it up with water to save yourself a headache. (THE BOTTLE DOES NOT COME WITH THE KIT) Then I would recommend getting
a pair of scissors, a roll of paper towels, and a old bath towel to lay on the front bumper right in front of the headlight. This will prevent you from having to constantly stop and clean up the mess once you start the job. The yellow/rust will be running down the lights and the front bumper while you are doing this. This is why I recommend using a towel. You can now get the
BROWN sand paper to get ready to use. The kit also comes with one glove that you can use to prevent skin irritation from the products.
First thing you want to do is get the headlight wet. (YOU CAN SPRAY AS MUCH WATER AS YOU WANT, BUT JUST BE SURE YOU SPRAY IT GOOD) Now you will start the sanding process. As you are sanding the headlight, continue to spray with the water bottle and DON NOT let the light get dry while you are sanding. The paper tells you to do the step for about 3 to 5 minutes, but I did it for
10 minutes! Just make sure that you cover the headlight for the best results. After you have completed the sanding, take a piece of paper towel to wipe the headlight dry. Each step that I did, I went
BACK AND FORWARD from one headlight to the other. I would recommend doing this to cut down on the time of the project and for a trick I found out towards the end of this that could be helpful.
^STEP #3 - Now you will need to get the
BLUE sand paper that has less grit than the
BROWN one you used in STEP #2. You will basically be do the same thing that you did in STEP #2. Again, continue to constantly spray with the water bottle for the best results. I believe the instructions say that you can do this for 1 minute or so, but I did it for
10 minutes! I think you could get away with a strong 5 minutes worth of sanding, should do the job. After you have wiped the headlight with a paper towel clean of everything, you are now ready for STEP #4.

ORANGE cloth with
CV#1
^STEP #4 - Now you need to get one of the
CV#1 packets along with one of the
ORANGE looking cloths for this step. The
CV#1 packet has this rip slit on the side of it, but I thought it would be best to use a pair of scissors and cut the near the edge so that the stuff doesn't run out to fast. You want to have the
ORANGE cloth folded into a square.
The instructions say to put a small pea drop of the stuff on the cloth, but you will use all of it. The kit comes with (2)
CV#1 packs, so you get (1) per headlight. Again, if you are not going
BACK AND FOWARD between the headlights I would start now to get the best results on the trick I found out for the last step. When you are applying the product, you can do it in a circular motion, or go from side to side. I think I did little bit of both because my arm was getting tired

. Continue to buff until the headlight until the product is gone. After that is finished, you want to wipe down the headlight with a paper towel until it is
CLEAN of everything.
THE FINAL AND MOST IMPORTANT STEP
^STEP #5 - Now it's time to share the trick I found out with the final step. First things first, get the scissors out and get (1) of the
CV#2 packets along with (1) of the
ORANGE cloths. Now would be a
GOOD TIME to double check and make sure that the headlight is COMPLETELY dry before we move on.
Ok, notice how the kit comes with (4)
CV#2 packets and (4)
ORANGE cloths. They did this so that you will be able use (2) packets per headlight with a 3 to 5 minute wait time between each coat. I found that you can squeeze out both headlights from (1) packet if you do this swiftly. This will give you (4) coats per headlight instead of (2). Now you can use the scissors to cut the
CV#2 packet near the edge. (IT'S A LITTLE RUNNY SO POUR CAREFULLY) Fold the
ORANGE cloth into a square and evenly let the product pour onto the cloth.
The paper says that it dries in about
20 seconds, so you want to do this quickly starting from the top left corner of the headlight and go from one side to the other in one motion. Do this from the top, middle, and bottom part of the headlight for the best results. You can go over the light about (3) times with the top, middle, and bottom motion and still have time do the other headlight using the same cloth without having to use more
CV#2 just yet. By doing this you will be able to get (4) coats per headlight out of the packets to help the yellow/rust say way as long as possible. The more coats the better "I SAY".
This was my first time doing this and I figured I would share my results with the board. I was going to order another TSURU headlight kit and dump the OG headlights, but I have changed my mind for now. How long will the lights stay clear

, only time will tell. I will just have to report back and post my results. I actually had took all the pics after the job was complete because I didn't have the D-CAM at that time. Special thanks to me friend Andrea for taking all the *PICS* and for bringing a hungry man something to eat
