this all started with a coolant leak. pulled off the intake manifold to get to the rear coolant lines, and noticed my head gasket was blown. fun stuff! so since alot of other things were screwed up as well (wiring harness, piping, ect) lets just pull the motor! sounds like a pretty easy project, right?
well, it was all going good..DALOCSR20 was nice enough to sell me a R wiring harness, (since my DE harness was hacked to pieces...never trust a shop to do anything) as seen by this...chaos:
they hacked into it to do a afc neo, and other..completely needless things. then down the harness, they chopped into the injectors to make a *resistor box* that just pretty much grounded the injectors to the head, don't understand how that works. and they also did 3 relays...it was a mess. so thanks again DALOCSR20! =] fast shipment too.
so after we pulled out everything, i decided lets clean it all up alittle bit and *chrome *it all!

all turned out pretty good for a 1st time spray painter, and yes..i used the 1200 degree paint so hopefully it doesn't melt on me.
now, this project was put on hold for about 4-5 weeks..because cosworth took there sweet time to mail it to me. after the ARP studs and cosworth head gasket, koyo radiator and water pump came in we could finally get started!
we started to put it all together, and when we went to do the timing..we took off the oil pan and guess what we found? metal shavings! so, lets tear it completely apart..and guess what? the bearings were shot! time to call up Greg again! ACL bearings..on the way. another week wait, gay! this is killing me.
week later, bearings come in and we got the crank polished and it turned out SEXY. (can barely see it here...forgot to take a picture of it, want this thing together!)
test fit of the head to the block after being shaved:
fits perfect! so let's grind out the cosworth head gasket so it can fit the R block!
it all fits..yay! thank you jesus lol.
but, when we went to set the timing..guess what the place that did the head work did? took my timing chain tensioner..forgot to take it out! so, getta call up greg tomorrow and order another one..since the nissan working here is retarded.
still waiting to see what this looks like installed too:
got the AEM EMS so going to delete the MAF too, took out A/C, power steering, so it should look pretty clean. don't think i am going to do a emissions delete.
hopefully with everything chromed / blacked out it looks clean once it's all put together. it should run strong too with the ARP head studs, cosworth head gasket, ACL bearings, AEM and all the other goodies..i'll post up more pics of everything once i get it all put back together. hopefully the timing chain tensioner comes in soon! calling greg tomorrow. just wanted to show everyone the project for the 200!
oh yeah, this is my buddies riced our tail lights we did while we were thinking, i think it's retarded looking..your thoughts?
RICEEEEEe, poor 240...lol
