just a few changes

been doing some odds and ends in the engine bay...

upgraded the pcv hoses to emissions grade (cheap blue ebay ones were started to harden)... also had to jb weld new fittings onto the infamous ebay intake since it comes equipped with fittings that are for smaller diameter hoses... i just used one of the straight fittings from the old pcv tubing... cut it in half and expoxied it over the smaller fittings... (stupid ebay intake right harris? )

removed the aiv system (put it into my sisters nx since here aiv valve was failing)

and painted my rusty oil seperator now that it is the only thing in the front of the engine... first i sanded it... then i used some bbq black rust proofing paint... then i used duplicolor engine enamel semi gloss... good for up to 500 degrees... this paint works really great...

enjoy

(the obx header is still changing colors ... it's great)

(ignore the green battery... its being replaced with a hawker genesis g13ep... only 30 dollars... more on where to get it in the future )

oh and here is the before shot...

You better say you love that intake.

How does the OBX feel over the PS? Notice any gains? Let me know your evaluation on it.

Oh, and how is the JDM treatin' ya? Did you ever find out if it was 10:1 like you suspected it was?

I really like your engine bay man. Sounds like something I would have done with my spare time. Keep blingin' dawg!

what up dawg......

i can't really tell much of a difference between the obx and the ps headers. it was really all about the stainless steel aspect and the quaility welds that made me want to get one of these. Mine does seem do make a little bit of a mad cricket sound at wot and it does seem to rattle against something between 4,200, and 4,300 rpms. (Maybe the sway bar or something) None the less im very satisfied with it. And the price just can't be beat... in terms of quality the ps isn't anywhere near the quality of the obx. and for people like me who dont care about how my dyno numbers compare to everyone else's but rather whether or not my car will get me to school and back with out problems the obx is the one for me...

i will also have to post a pic or two of my new ricer mods for you harris got myself some silver stars and the silver star clear marker lights (but they light up amber). along with changing out my front side markers for red ones. i had tinted the amber ones as a test for the rest of my lights and im pretty sure i like the red ones better... oh and i'm going to be getting and putting on the nismo gt rubber shift knob... mr rice thats me... next up... single wiper conversion no not actually... who could ever be that...

oh and the jdm is doing great... the oil comes out the same color it went in... it pulls great... no knock knock knock... but no i don't know if it is 10:1 and probably never will... which is fine with me for some reason... the head being marked 53J? is the main reason i suspect it may be 10:1

All FWD DEs are 53J, except for the gtir. Engine looks clean, you should have left off the EGR crap though.

Where he comes from, he needs the EGR to pass emmissions, something that you Floridians are lucky not to have.

hehehe... true that... its great when you have someone else on the forum to answer your questions for you

and you were right serban i left off the 3L after the 53j. according to aztek's compression list this makes my engine 10:1... here's the description.... 53J V10 - 3L 10:1 JDM bare aluminum cover w/ black in the middle No Ribs under the coil there is a circle with a line through it and a small number inside

yup that was 2 or 3 nights of elbow grease... likely not as nice as a company could have polished it but you get that nice sense of accomplishment when its all done...
