Me and my friend just picked this up for free! It is turbocharged, with an upgraded turbo but Im unsure of what kind. The engine had a knock to it, and the kid is moving to Florida this Friday so he needed it gone.
Half throttle and the thing chirps second, and scoots to 80 PDQ. Didnt wanna push it *** of the knock, but it died halfway home anyways.
That stuff all over it is pollen, its been sitting for a while. New engine, maybe a 5 speed swap, new rear bumper and front fender, and this car is gonna be our cruising car. Targa removable top, leather interior, blah blah blah.
That's got a TON of potential - that's the good body style for that gen too

Man thats a hella good freebie. A little bit of work here and there but nothing major, except maybe the motor. Those things can be pretty quick even on stock turbo and its heavy as hell.
you lucky SOB a guy from n.e. tech brings his 89 supra turbo once in a while. custom cf hood, front mount, t04 turbo. pretty sick car. are you gonna drag with that nate?
well apparently the top end is gone, the timing belt snapped. gettin it fixed for $250 maybe a lil port and polish too.... I might bring it to the dragway once or twice, but I think its gonna be more of a cruising around town car. The turbo has "Toyota" and "26" stamped on it. It looks rather large, but I know absolutely nothing about these cars yet.
lol change headgasket sooon as you get other motor torque it to 77 pounds... i suggest an HKS headgasket.. dont torque it to specs cause toyota's specs are wrong.
oh yea.. i suggest gettin the ct26 ported badly.. throw a 60. wheel in there.
oh an if worse comes to worse an you cant find anoter 7m-gte which i doubt, let me know i know where theres a ton of 1JZ laying around.

Old car: 1999 Sentra SE-L Turbo: USDM sr20de, t25 turbo, hot shot intercooler kit, BIG ass fmic, nismo fpr, autometer fp gauge/boost gauge, mbc set at stock boost for now! 7psi= more traction>11psi=less traction.
Those bottom ends are pretty stout like ours are, cant say the same for the headgasket though. Id do that first if you plan on putting down some power.
Thanks for the help guys...this thing is a work in progress. Ill post pics of it as we go along, and Ill definitely look into getting an HKS headgasket!
Well unfortunately, it is in a way. We just want to get it looking and running good. Nothing major AT ALL.
leaving everything stock basically, just cleaning it up, replacing what we need, and using it to cruise around. Im sure it will be up at the dragway a few times, just to see what it can do.
