Powder Factory Pics

Today Jon (civicsRslow) and I took a trip down to an old powder and amunition factory that's by where I live. Most of the building is abandoned so it made for some really cool backgrounds and some pretty awesome exploring. Typicaly you get prosecuted if you get caught inside the facility, but we got permission from the people who own an art studio on the property, so we were free to go wherever.

***note***
I realize that the picture quality isn't the best. Keep in mind that these were done at the 1 hour place down the road so that we could get them posted as quickly as possible, and that I don't have any photo editing software at home so I couldn't enhance, sharpen or balance the pics. I'll be doing that at work on monday
***note***

Here are a couple with the smoke stacks and a weed overgrown crane :

These are just regular pics, nothing to special :

Jon's just chillin off to the side.

I see a fatty downpipe under there.

In case it dosn't show up clearly, it says "Power House" above the door. Just thought it was fitting sitting above an SE-R.

Inside the entrance to the building were a ton of old wheels and tires and some old boilers, kind of creepy, and too the left of Jon's car were a bunch of motors on palets (even a VW 1.8t with KKK03 turbo still on it)

A couple shots looking at the cars from inside the building :

Here are a couple from inside the buildings. I had a blast just walking around and looking at stuff.
This is looking through a rustted door, with the glass broken out, and seeing all the shattered windows.

Here are some headstones that the artist put in the building for a creepy photo shoot and never took out. Since I knew how they got there so it wasn't to wierd, but I'd imagine that it would be kind of freaky if I hadn't known.

There was a ton of moss and standing water on the west side of the structure. I thought that the reflections of the water and the shadows from the busted windows made this pretty cool looking.

This is just as you enter the east side of the main building. Off to the right is the boiler room.

Saw a cat.

Re: Powder Factory Pics

If i remember correctly, that an old ammo supplier during the civil war. If you get caught there, you will go to jail.

Re: Powder Factory Pics

Yeah, it was an ammo supplier during the civil war and then they used it again during WWII, but there was an explosion that killed several people and after that they shut it down. Yes, you will get arrested if you get caught there, if you don't have premission to be there that is. Good thing we asked before walking around.

Re: Powder Factory Pics

Don't know why they were there. I know that there's a machinist shop that rents out a dock in the back of the complex - I think they belong to them. There were a couple of probe V6's a VW 1.8t and some other - they didn't look like they'd been there long.

Re: Powder Factory Pics

are they rota's..if you dont mine, what kind of suspension and the drop level. I was thinking doing the same like yours. Most of you guys with the drop B13, are they rough as hell.
Screw the pain, keep the hod rod looking prime bumper!

Re: Powder Factory Pics

I'm assuming that you're talking about the suspension setup for the red se-r. Yeah, the red car has rota slipstreams. I think it's riding on KYB AGX's and Suspension Techniques Springs. It dosn't ride very rough at all.

Re: Powder Factory Pics

Here are the pics of the inside balanced and rotated (if rotation was necessary).

This is the headstones just balanced :

This is the same shot balanced with the foreground sharpened :

I went back again last night and took a couple rolls of just the outside and inside of the factory. They should be ready within the week so hopefully I'll be able to post those soon. The people there are pretty cool and they'll let you pretty much hang out and do what you want as long as you ask first.
I'm gonna balance and rotate some of the SE-R pics later, so I'll post them up after that's done.

Has anyone else seen the movie "Session 9"...these shots remind me of the asylum that the movie takes place in. Very creepy.
