Here's "my" nx2000. It's really my girlfriend's(my car is the xB in the background), but I will certainly be investing time and money as if it was like my own We bought it on ebay for $820, and just brought it back to NY from PA yesterday. It was 128k on it. It was running really rich and crappily on the way home. I put the ecu in diagnostic mode and it gave me the "system ok" code. Turns out the problem was a disconnected spark plug wire. Next items on the to do list are painting the center caps back to silver, and replacing the passenger side motor mount. It looks pretty cracked and worn, the motor definitely shakes a little more in the engine bay than I'd consider "normal", and the dashboard has a really nasty vibration at idle and on deceleration. Nonetheless, I'm a happy new sr20 driver
Nice ride. I dont understand the paint part of the rim though haha.
thanks! yeah, there were alot of things on this car that were in poor taste. the rim center caps were one thing. The car also had a red vinyl shift boot that had been spray painted black, and two out of the three pedals had cheap @$$ "racing" pedals that were held on by nothing but flimsy metal prongs. also, the shift knob was apparently stolen while the car was on the dealer's lot, so they replaced it with a knob from a vw which didn't even fit. I replaced the vw knob with a $10 aluminum one from advance auto parts
Good save. Old SR20 cars, especially the rarer NX2k's, need to get in the hands of enthusiasts instead of going to people that will drive them into the ground.
We need to get Sally Strothers to front an Adopt-A-SE-R Foundation. "Won't you help?"
Sexy. Just take off the center hubcaps. Looks pretty good with it off.
That's a good idea. The weather is so bad right now I probably won't be able to repaint them until spring anyway. It has to get it's NY inspection soon anyway, and for that I will probably swap on the bronze konig heliums that you see on my car since the tires on the nx are pretty much bald.
hahaha...you drove the car from PA to NY on 3 cylinders?? Not a bad car for $800 though.
What are you talking about? My b13 runs GREAT on 3 cylinders!
