new recruit & track day

Just to let the tidewater people know, i ran down this dude with a 93-94 se-r on general booth the other day and he says he is down with getting together and stomping some hondas or whatever else we do when we get together. Also, ive heard that april 12th is the first big import day at dinwitty (if thats how you spell it) and me and peanuthead are definitely going. It would be cool if everyone came from the area to flex some sr20 muscle.

it looked like....

It was a white one with some koni 16's on it. And it had a body kit that wasnt painted yet with an aftermarket exhaust. It was the first time id seen him around there, he says that he goes to TCC so he must live in the area. I saw a blue one the other day too but i was in a hurry and couldnt stop.

celica

How fast did you race the celica up to? Its been my experience that they dont come on strong until 3rd gear. This kid i know just got rid of his celica gts for a civic hatch with an integra motor swap. I think hes an idiot for doing it.

i do not condone street racing, but...

we actually did two runs. the first from the light, i friggin' spun 90% thru first gear (that's why i needs new tires), but by the next light had just shifted to third. we did the next sprint from about 15mph. i got to stretch my baby's legs all the way to the top of third. dude had no chance. he pulled up to me @ the next light and asked "what i had in her". i responded w/ "nothin' she's all natural"

i wasn't lying...

but yer prolly right about the GTS. i don't think i woulda been that easy if it were one of those. all i could see was the aftermarket gt wing, body kit, rims, and exhaust. he pulled the badging off, so he was prolly tryin' to hide the fact that it's only a GT. the GT isn't too shabby w/ 140 hp and only weighing 2400 lbs. a little less torque than me, though.

I dont condone street racing either but...

I'm thinking the se-r is way faster than people think because i raced my friends civic the other day and dusted him 3 times in a row. He has an integra ls 1.8 motor swap with a vtec head and all kinds of intake/exhaust stuff. He put down 140 to the wheels up at abacus' dyno the other day too. I guess its true what they say... torque rules on the streets. By the time we hit 3rd gear I had 2 car lengths on him and he wasnt even catching up in vtec. A celica GT even is a good victory considering they have the same hp and weigh less than we do.

yeah

yeah, his name is melvin. He had a red GT-s. I dont think he's sold it yet but he is trying. He ran 14.6 with just a CAI. That thing was quick. I dunno why he wants a civic.

cnibanna.... are you doing a VE?

hey, arent you doing a VE swap right now? You think it will be running by then? I would love to see one of those run in person and see what they are capable of. Ive been drooling over them ever since i found out it was available.

I think he is still trying to sell his GTS. He got a 14.6 with Nittos drags on. He is a good driver.... The reason he is buy a civic is to do a GSR swap.

gsr swap

yeah, he is doing a gsr swap. i guess we'll just have to see how it runs. It seems to me like the power to weight is about the same in his celica or a gsr powered civic. It will definitely be fast... I just hate to see another kid go honda, its nice to have some variety out there and that celica was nice. And yeah, he is a really good driver. He raced my friend in his MR2 spyder and walked him down. I think he will be at dinwittie on april 12th too!
