thinking about getting into AutoX.

I've been thinking about getting out to some of the AutoX events that are held at ripken stadium in aberdeen. I've never done anything like that before and would really like to get into it.
Is there anyone from the MD area that is interested or has done this before? I'm just wondering *** it would be cool to have someone to talk to about this stuff or run in events with.

My brother and I are def. down. His Sentra is currently under construction so we've been running my Impreza in events. We certainly wouldn't turn down helping you out and showing you some of the basics. We are new to competition but have spectated for a long time now.

I have been autoxing at Fed-Ex with the SCCA for a few years. I just bought a SE-R and took it out for the first time last weekend. It's still pretty much stock, but had fun with it all the same. I don't know yet if I am keeping the car long, so until I figure that out, it will probably stay stock. I don't make it up to Aberdeen much though, too far away for me.

I'll be at the Autocrossers, Inc., one on Aug. 27 (registration info here) at Ripken but I won't be driving my SE-R.

Just curious, how can you tell its the same car? Pretty much looks like every other SE-R from the pic. I picked it up from a guy named Rex in Manasas a couple of weeks ago. He said he got it from someone who was into racing, so that very well could be your car, just wondering how you spotted it.

Broken rubber ducky attenna, and when I got the car it had chrome fender covers which under had almost perfect paint. I can see where they used to be on that car. Also has a scratch on the RR bumper right under the sidemarker where I backed into a cop.

If you want further proof, the drivers door sags horribly (enough to trigger the Door Ajar light), the driver's seat should still have a stain where I dropped a Dr. Pepper leaving VIR, and it might still have my $9 Pep Boys shift knob that I bought because I broke my stock one and cut my hand open at an autox.

I put the motor in that car along with fixing the 5th gear pop out. I think there are 2 or 3 threads where that car was for sale AFTER me on this forum and I tired to add all I could to those, but if you have any random questions about it lemme know. That car is the reason I've owned 6 others.

Oh, and Rex didnt buy it from me, it's been through at least 4 other owners between me and you. But again, I'm glad it's back to being used for what it was made for.

I'm an instructor with the Philly Region, so I can help you out at any of their events. I've been running with them for 5 years. I have autocrossed my SE-R a couple times, but I mostly run my WRX. If you see a white wrx with white wheels, that's me.

LOL I was trying to figure out why the paint on the fenders was the only shiny paint on the car. Thanks for pulling them off... that must not have looked too good.

I found a few of the old for sale posts, yeah definently the same car. Thats pretty cool. Although the KYB/AGX's and eibach springs seem to have been taken off along the way. That's too bad I could really use them on the car now, but it handles ok on stock suspension.

I'll send you some pics of when I owned it later, plus what it looked like before I got it.

My buddy that bought it from me has the coilovers that I had on the car for sale. They were used for about 10k miles before me and I probably had them on the car for 8k miles or so. They are definitely used, but seemed decent when I sold it. They were AGX's with Ground Control coilovers. If you are interested just PM me and I can get you his information.

I'll keep an eye out for you. I am gonna try and make it to the autoX at ripken stadium on the 27th but that ones kind of iffy for me. The only ones I could find in Sept. that I could enter were in cumberland and I'm gonna try and make those ones, and I'm definately entering the one at ripken stadium in october.

There are two at Ripken in October. Autocrossers, Inc., has one on a Saturday (the 21st) and Philly Region has one the next day (the 22nd).

I didn't see any listings for the Autocrosser, inc.
I was looking on myautoevents.com.
Do you have a link I could find info at for autocrossers inc?

http://www.saferacer.com/sizingcharts.html

Use a string and a carpenter's tape measure if you don't have a tailor's tape measure.

You may want to go try helmets on somewhere. They vary quite a bit in comfort, depending on your head shape. OG racing is over by Dulles airport in VA. That's where I went.

Slim Speedy, my buddy just listed them for sale before I could contact him about it.

http://www.sr20forum.com/mid-atlantic-east/165855-fs-gc-coilovers-agx-b13-va.html

I'll let him know you are interested though, and that you have my old car.

Rob,
Loaner helmets are always available at the event. Save yourself the cash and see if you like autox first before buying a helmet.
