Let's go race in Cincinnati on May 19!

Hey, gang;

Edgewater Raceway Park (a 1/4 mile dragstrip just outside of Cincinnati) is having their annual 'Import Day' on Sunday, May 19. There's a car show, too, but we don't care about that.

Here's a link: http://www.edgewaterrace.com

Who's up for making this a Midwest Meet? Sounds like a great excuse to go racing, for which I need no excuse. My turbo setup should be more than finished by then, and I'll *need* to do some, um, testing.

Plus, I will also need an excuse to kick ProjectSE-R's ass down the 1/4 mile, as usual.

So....what do you guys think? Let's make this a Midwest Meet on May 19!

Your thoughts/comments welcomed...

That's just not an image I wanted to see - Bowlcut in the middle of a wrestling ring holding ProjectSE-R and SERprise by the scruffs of their necks.
(PS - my car doesn't know how to go straight, so it would just bounce off a wall searching for a cone.)

Steve--

Most dragstrips use small cones to guard the timing lights, all the way down the track. So, you *could* do some slalom action. However, you'll swiftly be kicked out of the place, so that's no good.

As for ProjectSE-R and I talking smack. It's all in good fun.

Right up to the moment that last yellow light goes off.

A T25 vs. T28 scenario is just downright interesting, dontcha' think?

yea T25 running for the first time in a month vs a T28....

Hmmm i bet you could get some seriously good times on a preped drag strip with vht doing the cone . Who needs race tires when the track is stickier than molasses.

i dont know about you two....i saw how you two go at each other, i bet it comes to blows before the staging lights

HAHAHA! Nah, Greg is my bud, we are just turbo trash talking. But we know who's gonna take the light!!! After Greg and his 13.89 at CC, I have to top that and him!!! Damnit, if I have to start turning tricks to get a walbro, 4 bar, bored maf and a 50 shot to hit before spool up, I'm gonna take him!!!

John got an excellent look at what a 13.89 run is like on that day, sure.

And thus began John's second parts-throwing escapade...

Hey, if John and I squaring off at the dragstrip gets more of you guys to come to this, then I'm all for it. We need to get the Midwest Gang together in the spring, and this is an excellent opportunity to do so.

Guess itll come down to March! Hey Greg, Edgewater is having their first Test & Tune day of the season on Saturday February 23rd from 12-5. Marc, Mr. Mustang, and I are going down to see what times we pull with our new mods and I will be bringing a colder set of plugs, timing light and whatever else to see how I can lower my time. You need to break away and come down!!

Bah, neither of you have a Quaife. With the surface and the VHT I will be pulling on BOTH of you on street tires all the way thru first. That first 60 feet is mine! Turbo or not!

...this friendly trash talking stuff is fun ...

I will be there! I will get my ass handed to me by all and sundry because my mods are inferior and I've never made a run before! I don't know how to launch or where to shift, or whether my 112k mile clutch will even make it down the strip! YOU WILL ALL OWN ME! I WILL BE EVERYONE'S BITCH!!!!

Whew, I feel better now...

LOL! Nah.... Stine, I ran a 9.9 my very first drag strip run, but that was an 1/8th mile track! Its fun, you just shift like you would if you were street racing, keep in mind your powerband though! Take 2nd almost to the rev limit then bang those gears!!!

Greg is an EXPERT at launching, ask him, he will tell you to go on the last yellow light....and hes right!!! It still wont help him though.

Aaallllllrrrriiiiigggghhhhttttyyy then...

Kent, you will have a blast. You're clutch may not be too happy afterwards, but you will have fun. And fun is what it's all about.

Except for the part where the B13 completely humiliates the B14.

But, I digress.
