I know there are very few SR20DE enthusiast in St. Louis, and even fewer that are interested in autoX, but I thought I'd post a little reminder. The first SCCA Solo II autocross is a little over a month away. It will be held at Gateway Int Raceway (go here for directions: http://www.gatewayraceway.com/html/b...ting_here.html ) Registration begins at 8AM, you should be there by 9 at the latest. If you want to go please post, if you have quetions you can e mial me or simply post 'em. Heck, even if you don't want to try it the first time out you would be more than welcome to come out and watch me run over thousands of innocent cones : )
sweet I have never X but would be interrested in it, I'll be up there for vaction on the march 15 or 16 is this held at the gate way raceway? how much what do I need to do to kill cones?
Jason, good to hear from you. At one time you thought work may bring you here to St. Louis; any word on that?
As for autoX, you don't need much. The entry fee is $30 for non-SCCA members and $20 for members. Your car will need to pass inspection which is pretty easy. They will check: that the hubs aren't loose, your battery is secure, you have a radiator overflow tank, your throttle cable snaps back to an idle position, and that your drivers floor mat has been removed. Very few cars don't pass inspection. After that you'll need a helmet but they loan those out for free at the event.
The event is at Gateway International, but I don't think it will be on the track itself; I think they just use the big parking lot. That's what they did two years ago when I went to a Gateway Int. autoX.
I hope you can make it, but be warned, once you try it you might end up addicted.
if I make the move up there it will be in a year or so, not really sure what is going to happen with me.
I can get a helmet, does it have to be a certain kind? I can get a full face motorcycle helmet.
Also when I get up there I'll PM you or something, if you don't mind, could I maybe follow you to the autoX I dunno if any of my family will be free to go with, or lead me up there. later Jason
Helmets need to be a SNELL M90 or better. I believe that would include a Snell M95 or Snell M2000. Of course SA 90 through SA 2000 would work as well. Again, if anyone doesn't have a helmet they will be provided for free by the SCCA.
Jason, I'd be glad to meet you someplace that morning and lead you out there. I'll send you my phone # so we can work out the details.
One more thing... I just found out that SCCA is no longer providing paper numbers or tape. I will bring some blank paper, a marker, and good 3M masking tape (wont hurt your paint) for any SR20 owners to use, but if you have a set of magnetic #s or something special please bring 'em. Well, if it's after 11 PM Friday night just wait till Saturday morning to call. I'll be working on cars all day Saturday, so I should be up early and around all day.

What's wrong with the one you have? Are you sure it's a problem with the distributor?
