Whats the dif between that and saturating the train with oil?
Don't rollers get rid of the friction?
just pull the valve cover, soak it with assembly lube, and put it back on...simple as that regular oil will run off faster, where ass. lube..(HAHA) wont

assembly lube sticks a lil better. Do the oil thing on the valvetrain right before you start it. I think you can just get away with putting assmebly lube on the cam lobes. If you're really ambitious you can put some on the cam bearings too, but you'll need to remove the caps to do that. If you want, I can send you the FSM pages on torque specs and sequence. Its easy to do.

I will have to go buy some... As for dissasembly of cams and what not, I have experience with that from my cam swap on my 98 motor... The motor has rollers so I don't know if putting them on the cam lobes is necessary, but I'll do it anyway!
BTW, I got some great pics coming up... uploading at the moment... Stay Brian... I mean Tuned!

Hey all... Unfortunately were not running yet.. But it's postponed until the middle of this week or next weekend. I'm waiting on a couple of things and think that its a good idea as well.
At the end of the day Saturday we stopped with axles out, and the motor mounted. Right on schedule!
Lets start off todays work...
Well I started kind of late today... I wasn't feeling super motivated until about 2pm because of the crappy weather. First thing I did was take a good look at the engine bay... lots needed to be done.
We couldn't get the passenger side axle in because the crossmember ws in the way... First thing I did was removed it and check if there was clearance. I had to remove the strut bolts from the brake assembly to do it, but it cleared!
Here I am checking...
Next it was time for me to pull the wiring harness from behind the block. I had to do a bit of wriggling... Lord knows the MAF plug doesn't belong by the steering pump!
I got that pretty squared away and started plugging things in where they belong
I had readjust the throttle cable and the cruise control because of the thermobloks... After adjusting I got that squared away
Next, I had to drill out the STUPID bolt that got stuck when removing the battery ground wire. Two Broken Drill bits later I had a hole big enough... ARGGGGGG
I also had trouble with the battery "hold down" bolt... I broke that one too... so I figured out what I would do... instead of drilling it out, I got the dremmel out and wire brushed it...
Bang Bang...
I also Cleaned up the Battery Tray and the hold down assembly
Yep...
Here is the assembly thing I painted over with rustoleum
Ditto...

Temporarily Broke my Ratchet but I was able to fix it...
The girl stopped me and fixed me some dinner, what a Dollface....
It started to rain a bit, but I said F' it...
I started working on cleaning the mating surfaces for the grounds and battery terminals...
Terminals Son...
It started raining bad so I stopped working and took some last minute pics before I cleaned up
The more I look at the tinted lights the more that I like them... I'm glad it rained, the car needed a little bit of cleaning anyway!!! I love this car...
I did find something... not sure if its bad or not... but this is the connector to the oil cooler/sender thingy... why is it covered in all these grease sh*t???
The other end on the OLD motor was covered in oil? Wierd...
Man, we got at least 3 or 4 people swapping at the same time, and next weekend is the "crank up" goal...
All the best my friend... Cross your fingers 3 to 4 times. Hopefully you can get a video of the precious moment... I really hope this goes well. I don't ever want to do this to my car again!!!!!

That grease is dielectric grease. it prevents the terminals from corrosion
After a second look, seems as though the oil either came from spilling from oil changes, or my mishap right before rod bearing issues...
Nonetheless, I think I should take care cleaning the harness side of this plug. The RR motor shows no signs of having this grease (or oil for that matter) on its terminals... No other plugs have this grease either... interesting...
all thats left to do is swap the rear brake pads, hook the header up and install the egr plug, hook up the vaccum lines, hack on the cai, install the battery and fill all of the fluids up.
I'm still limpin behind though! Give me some cred! he he... sike
It's looking like Tuesday I will have to do most of my catch up work...
I think I can finish elec connectors and vacuums by the end of the day...
I know for a fact that my header will be leaking as I used the gasket from the JDM one, it was in alright condition but I didnt add anything to it, just slapped it on...
Whenever Jay has some time, he said he can drop the axle dust shield and a timing light off... I have to connect the steering pump, and ac compressor... and they are already hooked up I want to remove the rear block to IM bracket and hook up those last hoses. Then lastly put in the axles... Connect the Intake in WAI setup and lube and time for a trial...
Man, I'm so close man... Goodness I'm dying over here! And its getting cold again!

Tonight's goals are:
Connect all Electric
Remove Rear Bracket
Connect all Vacuum
Cut last Headlight Bolt
