Is there anyone around the Mpls. area who has had experience with installing clutches and would be willing to help me install an ACT clutch on my 94 classic? I will supply all of the booze and food that you can consume!
You can come to my place in Indiana and we could do it in 2 hours or less. 4 car garage, A/C and heat, several past geekouts there. There is one going on this weekend at my place if you check the other threads in this forum.
Normal rules- you can stay overnight no problem, I will help you get everything done. Just one rule- you gotta have some fun.

Thanks for the offer! That sounds like a GREAT idea. I would love to finally meet some of the forum guys and participate in a GEEKOUT. However, I just ordered my clutch from Low612 this past weekend and I'm not sure if it will arrive before this weekend. If it does-->COUNT ME IN!
Woohoo! You shouldn't have brought that up, because now I am going to hold you to your offer if I'm not able to make it to the geekout Either way, you'll be seeing me in your garage in the near future
There is a speed shop here in Kokomo that will resurface flywheels. $40. They will remove any dowels for $2 a piece. We could probably remove and reinstall them though. I would always have to check and make sure someone would be there on a Saturday because they don't always work Saturdays.
Well, I haven't received my clutch yet, so I won't be at the geekout this weekend-oh wait, I think I saw that it was cancelled. Oh well. I'm in the process of trying to figure out how and when I can get all the way down to Indiana and learn how to install a clutch on the SR20. I was planning on bringing a friend/car nut along, but he says he will only endure the trip if we go during HIN and stop in Chicago. I'll keep you posted, Ben.....
That sounds cool (last weekend of June). Yes, I am currently piecing together a turbo kit. All I really need is a downpipe, drill and tap, IC piping (all of which I can easily find in the near future), and a reprogrammed JWT ECU to get her running (this is the tricky part)!!! I haven't sent in my ECU yet, which means I probably won't have the program until the end of summer . If you have any ideas on how to make the car run w/o a reprogrammed ECU, or have the "hookup" with JWT, then we could install my turbo stuff, then, too:p
I have the EXACT drill and tap needed for your oil return line. I have drilled and tapped 3 or 4 SE-Rs at my geekouts in the past, so we could do this as well the same time.
As for a JWT ECU, if you are going to stick with the stock MAF, 370cc injectors, and T25, then just grab a DET ECU since you have an OBDI car. They have been found for under $200. I think Andreas may have one for sale for $225 on the For Sale forum.
You can use a BB DET ECU on a 94 SR20? I didn't know this! Have you had any experience driving in a car with this similar setup with a BB DET ECU? My only concern is that I have S3's, and I do like my increased redline. If I'm able to score a BB DET ECU for under 200, I'll try to get a downpipe and IC piping (any ideas for this?) before the end of the month. I would be ECSTATIC if I'm able to get my car turbocharged by July!
Oh, and congrats on your newly acquired 92 classic! Welcome to the happiest-SE-R-owners club
Oh, the only downside to a BB ECU is that they normally have speed limiters at 109 or 120 or something. The redline is the same as yours, just has a speed limiter. I would PM Andreas Miko about this since he has more experience with these than I do.

Hey Brock, let us know what you find out from Andreas, this way we don't all have to pester him.

Brock, making up the front-mount IC piping is very easy to do. You'll need about $50 worth of mandrel bends from JC Whitney to do it. Look in the Turbo forum FAQ for my install, and you'll see all you need to know.
Those bends, a tube of JB Weld, and some high-temp spray paint will do wonders.
[Edit] Connectors. You'll need silicone (preferable) pipe connectors and clamps to make everything go together. Or...you can have Ben's local welder guy weld them up for you. You'll still need a connector or two, regardless.) [/Edit]
As for the downpipe... JGY is the closest geographically to you, and he sells them at a decent price. PM or email him.
Thanks for the replies. I just sent a PM to Andreas to get the lowdown on the BB DET ECU. As for the IC piping, I checked your FAQ (1>180 deg mandrel bend, 3-4>90 deg bends, 2> 45 deg bends). You said that you ordered these from Summit. Don't you need to specify the length of the piping? The couplers you used "Purosoil turbo hose" in a 3 ft stick. So you just get the stick, cut them up and use 2 clamps from Lowe's to connect the IC piping?
For the downpipe, I just emailed JGY. Otherwise, I like the downpipe that Low612 is selling.
Once I get a thumbs up from Andreas about the BB ECU, I will buy the one on the forum.
The last thing I can think of that I don't have are the various gaskets. I already have a gasket for the exhaust/downpipe, and the manifold/block. Since the turbo/manifold are already together, I don't need one there. The only other one I can think of is the gasket between the downpipe/turbo. Any suggestions for that, and am I missing something?
