Old Dell laptop for Consult/FAST use (preloaded!)

Too slow for realtime use with eManage, but perfect for FAST and Consult diagnostics. I bought this from another forum member and upgraded it for datalogging/FAST/Consult diagnostic use. It's in excellent condition, screen hinge is perfect.

40MB RAM
2GB Hard Drive
CD-ROM/Floppy
2 PCMCIA slots
Dell/Targus case and docking station included
Includes 10/100 SMC PCMCIA network card (wired)
Includes CD bay high-capacity battery, since the regular one is dead.

Windows98 freshly patched and updated. Nissan FAST (parts database) and Conzult SX (linky) are loaded and working. Just get a consult interface and you'll be good to go. Also has M.S. Office installed, in case you need to write a paper while tuning your car.

Yes, it has a floppy drive. No, it can't burn CDs but has a CD-ROM drive module as well.

It has one bay for extra items. It can be a floppy, CD-ROM, or extra battery but not more than one. This laptop is really not a good computer to use as a main machine, unless it's always plugged in OR you buy a new/used Dell battery to replace the dead one. I bought the extra battery which uses the same bay as the CD-ROM/floppy module because it was cheap and I didn't need it for anything but data logging with the consult software.

Yes, you would be able to do simple tasks with it. Email would be ok too. It's not fast but it can work for you if you don't need much.
