Thats what it sounds like to me (having never touched one). One is the primary power the other is a switched power. The switched one causes the thing to turn on and off. Just like a radio. Of course you can avoid the entire issue by only giving the unit switched power. As long as it does not loose the settings when it looses power then it really should not matter.

AFAIK, there is no way to reset the MSS per se. You have to change the settings that you want to change. See Post #20 in this thread http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread....&highlight=MSS
for a more detailed run through on how to program the MSS.

Good Luck -- it's worth it once you get the MSS working.

Heres what I noticed on the one site that many people to use to wire their MSS(http://www.sr20ve.co.uk/). On his site he has the orange wire and the red wire mixed up. The Orange is supposed to be constant while the red is accessory. Switching these two wires will cause the MSS to stay on after the car is turned off. As previously stated somewhere you do not need constant power for the MSS, it has an eprom and will remember the settings after it is turned off.

If you set more than one parameter (for example, TPS AND RPM), all the specs have to be met (for example, 3 volts TPS AND 5000 RPM) before the cams will trigger. What other parameters have you set up, if any, and are their specs being met when you expect the cams to activitate?

Sorry guys, couldn`t find right MSS settings for sr16ve. Which revs do I have to set? sr20ve revs doesn`t suit. Now I`m setting 1-5800, 2-6000. Is it correct or I have to set other points? Thanks again!

The MSS is independent of the ECU and can be wired to switch your cams to either: 1) replace the switching capability of the VE ECU (which switches the cams at a high engine speed and is not reprogrammable), or 2) to switch your cams if you use a DE ecu.

You should use your original harness in either case. If you use the switching capability of the VE ECU, additional wiring will be needed to connect the ECU to the cam solenoids if you use the original harness.

Here is a good wiring diagram

http://www.sr20forum.com/neovvl-guid...e-diagram.html

Basically, you run constant (fused) 12V to each solenoid and the MSS feeds ground when the proper RPM is reached. The MSS instructions come in Japanese -- so it's a bit hard to figure them out. Ignore the speed wire and hook up the RPM wire to the ECU output to the tach.

Check this thread for how to program the MSS. Also in this thread are some instructions on which wire to tap from the ECU (at least for a B13 -- not sure about others).

http://www.sr20forum.com/neovvl-guid...reddy-mss.html

This should get you started. Search and there is lots more information on this forum.
